Paul taught us to pray constantly (1 Thessalonians 5:17). I wonder how many even spend five minutes a day praying. How many realize praying involves listening, as well as communicating our thoughts to the Lord?

We never know when the Lord is going to have something to say to us, so we need to always be listening. "Noah walked with God" (Genesis 6:9). It's like always having a friend with you.Hi Bob,
This verse always USED to throw me. But, after walking with Jesus long enough, He will put in your heart and mind many things and people to pray for. Just driving or walking down the street you can see many people who are lost in many ways and, even a 10 second prayer for those persons are still considered prayer...doesn't have to be a marathon being on your knees "constantly" as, that is not even possible. Prayers for family, friends, neighbors, strangers, pastors, church's on and on and on...JMO bro.
Welcome to CB @RedFanOrigen wrote: “He prays without ceasing who combines prayer with right actions, and becoming actions with prayer. For the saying ‘pray without ceasing’ can only be accepted by us as a possibility if we may speak of the whole life of a saint as one great continuous prayer.”
@Nancy The idea of praying without ceasing (1 Thess. 5) reminds me of the believer crying 'Abba, Father' (Romans 8); I think the idea is a constant attitude of prayer.Hi Bob,

You are absolutely correct (wheat and tares MUST grow together) I have "lurked" on a few other Christian sites and found the same ole same ole. If you can find a bible believing, everyone gets along site, I'd have to question the site...? Kind of like, If you find the "perfect" church, don't go there because it will no longer be perfect." (unknown)Thanks, me too! But the jury is still out on that one. Too many people posting strident, unbending views, seasoned with a dose of intolerance and condescension for opposing views.
