I think (the mark) will have two aspects .... one will be a new universal method of financial transaction .... and the other will have the element of "belonging to the group" ... as in pledges to , and worship of , the beast.

Those who follow beast will feel like "the king of the castle" and will be very proud of following the new system and the beast.

In order to "choose the mark" requires that there be some people who "do not choose the mark" ....

I don't the mark will anything to do with transaction. I think is more on the lines of a tattoo or branding giving credit to the antichrist and a person will ask to see this mark and if they don't see it they will refuse to sell to them because they do not have the mark.
