I will tell you that the order of the end times will not be an issue
I would have to disagree on that note. With all due respect I will not go any further than saying that it will make a huge difference for many people. I only hope and pray that people know the Scriptures regardless of what they think/believe. That's all I ask though I will ardently support what I believe because I know it to be true. You'll find no apologies from me and no change in course from the statements of this website.Paul never stated "the LORD is coming quickly to rapture(fly) away his church"... both he and Jesus told us that Jesus will come like a "thief in the night" meaning at any time. No man knows the hour, but we were given signs to know the times by: Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21.
The point made by Ross and all of you collectively concerning the last trump is also a misunderstanding....in 1thess 4 paul mentions the "trumpet of GOD"..this is the last trump he is refering to in 1 cor 15:52....This is not the judgment trumpets of rev 8-11, but is illustrated by the trumpet of Ex 19:16-19, which called the people out of the camp to meeet GOD. It will be a trumpet of DELIVERANCE. see also..Zeph 1:16 and ZECH 9:14.
With all due respect that's not even worth responding to. If you want to discount the book where most of the prophecy is described then by all means do so at your own peril. It's clear that the 7th trump is the last trump because it's very blunt:Revelation 10:7But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.Revelation 11:15And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.Final is a word that you cannot really mistake. When God's Word says its final you can take that to the bank. It works just like the singular coming of Jesus the Christ. It happens once. Not twice, not three times, but once. There are seven trumps and when the final trump - #7, the trump of God is blown - it is done no matter how you slice and dice it. In order for the rapture theory to hold any weight, it'd have to break these two lines of Scripture - once to get his church, and then come back in final victory and again in trumps after the final trump. Now tell me again what is not of God's Word? Finally, just to clarify that elect=church aka the bride of Christ:1 Peter 1:2Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.Colossians 3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;Luke 18:7And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
