I know far too many people who talk about God and Jesus all the time and most likely don't know Christ from Adam.

Yes indeed, do not be deceived.

Yes. I really meant, if they profess to be Christians, yet God is not in any of their thoughts (speaking) then they can't be real Christians, can they?

If you change your registration from “Other Faith” to “Christian” you will automatically have the privilege of posting in all forums. That would give you more opportunities to speak with others who believe as you do.

Oh. OK, didn't know that. I don't often post tbh, but do sometimes ask for private prayer (which I can do).

If your partner, family, friends etc, don't often talk about Jesus, and the things of God...they're not real Christians!
Do not be deceived.

I understand what you are saying and there is certainly some truth to it.

However, I think Christianity is about what God has done through Jesus Christ. The Bible is about God, not the behavior of people. People are quite helpless without the mercy and grace brought to us by Jesus.

Rom 3:10,

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:​

I think Jesus will be able to sort out those who are Christian and those who are not. I think there will be much more to it than who talks about him often and who doesn't. That is judging by appearances, which is not at all what Jesus does.

1Sam 16:7,

But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for [the LORD seeth] not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.​

Signs of a real Christian (according to an old preacher)
1. Love of God that engrosses the whole heart and fills the entire capacity of the soul. He is crucified to the desire of the flesh, desire of the eye, and the pride of life.
2. Love of neighbor
3. One more thing is needed to be an altogether Christian: faith
4. True faith brings forth repentance and love and all good works
5. Definition of faith: “The right and true Christian faith is not only to believe that Holy Scripture and the articles of our faith are true, but also to have a sure trust and confidence to be saved from everlasting damnation by Christ – it is a sure trust and confidence which a man hath in God that by the merits of Christ his sins are forgiven, and he reconciled to the favor of God – whereof doth follow a loving heart to obey his commandments.”
6. Whosoever has this faith is an altogether Christian
7. Who are the living witnesses of these things?
8. not almost Christians.
9. Good designs, good works and good desires do not make a real Christian.
10. if anyone dies without this faith and love, it would be better for them if they had never been born.

There’s even room for a Jewish monotheist under those signs; unlike some of the creeds.
