Greetings beloved in Christ,
In today’s fast-paced and complex world, many believers have unintentionally replaced personal fellowship with God with systems, traditions, and intermediaries. Yet, from the beginning, God’s heart has always been for direct relationship with His children. Through the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ, we have been given open access to the Father (Hebrews 4:16).

The question I want to bring to the forum today is this: Are we, in our churches and personal ministries, drawing people closer to God Himself, or closer to human structures and personalities?

This is not a call to neglect leadership, teaching, or order in the Body of Christ. Rather, it’s an encouragement to ensure that everything we do ultimately points people to know, worship, and walk with God personally.

I would love to hear your thoughts:
  • How can we ensure that discipleship today fosters personal intimacy with God?
  • What practical steps can leaders and believers take to avoid becoming “middlemen” between people and God?
  • How do we balance the need for spiritual authority with the call for individual believers to hear God for themselves?
Let’s edify one another with wisdom and Scripture.
Blessings in Christ,
Abdul S. Kamara

This is a huge topic. Where do we start? as believers in a church body, as individuals in friendship relationships, or as part of a ministry?

Genesis 12:1-3: - Promises to Abram
12:1 Now the Lord had said to Abram:
"Get out of/Walk away from your country,
{Walk away} From your family
And {Walk away} from your father's house,
To {walk in} a land/an earth that I will show you.
2 I will make you a great nation;
I will bless you
And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in/through you all the families of the earth/inhabiting My fertile soil shall be blessed."
My own paraphrase of these verses.

In verse one God tells Abraham to walk away from everything that is usually important to mankind and to walk in His Earth which he had created in Genesis 1:1 and that He would show mankind how he was to walk in God's earth.

In Verse two God promised Abraham that he would be the father of a great nation, that Abraham's name would be great and that He would be a blessing.

In verse three God said that He would bless those nation who blessed Abraham and His descendants and curse those nations that curse you and your descendants and that through Him, and his descendants that all the families of the earth that inhabit/send their roots down into His fertile soil will be blessed.

In the Parable of the Sower, Jesus described four situations, occurring over four time periods, as the Sower journeyed towards the prepared field for the seed, where the seed would be successful in establishing themselves in the soil of that field by sending down roots into that soil so that they would be able to draw their nourishment directly from God/Jesus to produce a heavy head of seeds.

If God has shown us how we should live in relationship with the people around us, then we, the body of Christ, should comply with those requirements so as to become a blessing to the people that we encounter on a daily basis where we are living scattered throughout the whole earth.

Coming to a better understanding of God's requirements of how we are to live our lives to be a blessing to others is our calling and as we come into a deeper understanding of God/Christ, we are to disciple those around us by teaching what God has placed in our hearts so that they too can go out into the world where God has called them to minister and also make disciples who that can encourage to do what they themselves has done.

Yes, Church is meant to be messy, as we seek God's face and learn from Him how we are to live complying with His statutes to be a blessing to others.

God's promise to us is that, He will show mercy to thousands, who love Him and keeps His commandments and statutes.

We all should be praying that God will continue to draw us into His loving embrace, so that we can experience His grace and come to know His purposes for our lives.

Shalom

Hello Sister, what comes to mind is Stand ye in the ways/Crossroads, and look. Ask for the ancient paths: 'Where is the good way?' Then walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.
