James 3 comes to mind, the whole chapter, taming of the tongue.

Jak 3:1 Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.
Jak 3:2 For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.
Jak 3:3 If we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well.
Jak 3:4 Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs.
Jak 3:5 So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire!
Jak 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell.
Jak 3:7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind,
Jak 3:8 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
Jak 3:9 With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God.
Jak 3:10 From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.
Jak 3:11 Does a spring pour forth from the same opening both fresh and salt water?
Jak 3:12 Can a fig tree, my brothers, bear olives, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a salt pond yield fresh water.
Jak 3:13 Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.
Jak 3:14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth.
Jak 3:15 This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.
Jak 3:16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.
Jak 3:17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.

Unfortunately we don't see wisdom here very much... Mostly corrupt religious flesh, accusing, closed to any depth of reason, absent of mercy towards those whom Jesus saves....fully partial to themselves, and dishonest.
Jak 3:18 And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
People here are mainly against righteousness...citing one or 2 verses in the bible that they take out of context....to overthrow hundreds of verses that prove they are not speaking the truth. The only peace the flesh desires is after it is been approved. Otherwise it is open conflict.

You continue to demonstrate that you have no idea what you are talking about. You even wrote a book proving you don't know the bible. The Bible says God "imputeth righteousness without works" (Romans 4:6), yet you preach justification by works. That isn't being "spiritual" or having a "deeper understanding." That is FALSE teaching!
I don't know why you remain on this thread....to hurl abuse and accuse??? Will any of the crows call you out? Of course not, they are the same as you...deceived and spoiled.

You are all dishonest and never quote what I say...just what you want to make a case out of. You think I don't read or understand the bible precisely because you can't read and discern the bible. That's your problem, not mine.

I said that God imputes righteousness by works AND by faith. \You think only in very very shallow ways that don't allow for 2 things to be true. No, you have to pit one good thing against the other.

God has ALWAYS justified by works as well as faith. I won't even bother to read the bible to you....

Hint for the slow of hearing...that means that I agree that Jesus also justifies by faith, (I have to dumb down to kindergarden level to talk to you. That is what indoctrination does to people who listen to the pulpiteers. Incapable of any reason or honesty.

Instead of pestering me like a spoiled child...look for where the bible actually has God justifying by works... Do a steel man argument...instead of your stawmanning and gaslighting me.

You are just a troll here.
God calls men who pervert His truth "false prophets, and ravening wolves" (Matthew 7: 15), "false teachers" (2 Peter 2:1), "deceivers" (2 John 7), and "false apostles, deceitful workers" (2 Corinthians 11:13). You're showing yourself to be exactly that. You contort clear passages of Scripture then accuse those who hold the Bible higher than you of being insulting. In Jesus' name stop spreading lies, humble yourself to the WORD OF GOD and repent. "Let God be true, but every man a liar" (Romans 3:4).
You accuse yourself. You are seeing through the eyes of a deceiver..all you see us deceit....but you need to look in the mirror to reveal the object of your diatribes.

No use telling you God's word bdavidc.

You don't believe it.

You bring your own undersanding to it instead of letting it speak to you.
This man is a self-condemned troll that wants to sully any truth being spoken here. Many like that here on a forum where addicts and abusers of many stripes congregate...whether it be religious or substance.

I think we could make a movie out of all this talk.
So many differing opinons.
No theology.
But so what...with so many stories about this and that.

I enjoy reading those members that state that others are preaching a different gospel.

Never stopping to think that MAYBE
just maybe
THEY are preaching a different gospel.

The way things are going...
we might be finding out who's right sooner than we'd like to think.
Well, I fear for the great disappointment that rich boojwah religiosnist types will experience when the truth is revealed to all flesh. I try to save as many as possible. But the egos just won't fly. They will not mount up with anything but egos.

So the carnal man screams out for justification...instead of God's mercy. And if these are shown mercy...they want it exclusively for themselves.

Show the wicked grace and they will not learn righteousness. In the land of uprightness they will corrupt every true path.

I am calling you out Episkopos, aka J.F. Morin, you just accused me of being dishonest because I supposedly never quote what you actually teach. Fine. Let the readers see your own words.

In your book The Sum of All Possibilities in Christ, you write that there are “two steps, or salvations, necessary to enter into the kingdom life of God,” and then say someone can be “spiritually born again in an initial step, and enter into Christ as a subsequent step.” Scripture says the opposite. “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body” (1 Corinthians 12:13). Scripture never teaches that a person can be born again by the Holy Spirit yet still be outside Christ awaiting a second salvation ‘into Christ.

You also write, “God’s Spirit is no more a separate person than our own spirits within us are separate people,” and describe God as “a three-dimensional unity of two persons sharing one Holy Spirit.” Yet the Holy Spirit speaks, wills, teaches, guides, intercedes, and can be grieved. “The Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them” (Acts 13:2). Those are your words, J.F. Morin, not mine.

Then you write, “The disobedience of the angelic host has been passed down to us as an inheritance.” But Scripture says, “by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners” (Romans 5:19). Human corruption is traced to Adam, not inherited angelic disobedience.

And now in this very thread you say, “God imputes righteousness by works AND by faith” and “God has ALWAYS justified by works as well as faith.” Romans 4 could hardly be clearer: “to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness,” and God “imputeth righteousness without works” (Romans 4:5–6).

You asked for a steel-man argument. Here it is. James says Abraham was “justified by works” when his faith was demonstrated by offering Isaac, but Genesis 15:6 had already said, long before Genesis 22, “he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.” James is dealing with the evidence of living faith. Paul is dealing directly with how righteousness is counted before God. You cannot make James contradict Romans 4.

So to everyone reading this thread, don't take my word for what Episkopos teaches. Read J.F. Morin’s own words, then read the Scriptures beside them. That is exactly what exposes the problem.

I don't know why you remain on this thread
You ask why I remain on this thread. I’ll tell you why. This is a Christian forum, and you keep posting teachings here that contradict the Word of God. I am not going to sit quietly while false doctrine is presented to Christians as some kind of deeper spiritual truth. Jude says we are to “earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” (Jude 3). That is why I am here.

You call me a troll, slow, dishonest, and say I cannot understand the Bible. None of that answers the Scriptures I keep putting in front of you. So that is why I remain. As long as you keep publicly posting false teaching on a Christian forum, I am going to keep doing what Scripture tells believers to do: test it, expose what contradicts God’s Word, and warn the people reading it.

If I misquote you, show it. If I mishandle Scripture, prove it from Scripture. But stop pretending that attacking me personally is an answer to the Word of God. It isn’t.
