I've understood how any sin is equally bad, but how exactly is shaving a sin?
The connotations and surrounding verses generally hint at it, but where shaving is considered a sin, it is done because this was typically a ritual shaving in a certain manner. For example, Canaanite priest shaved their head to about the halfway point. Doing this meant that you paid worship to or believed in another God which was surely a sin.
