Num 29:39 THESE THINGS ye shall do unto the LORD in your set feasts, BESIDES your vows, and your freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your meat offerings, and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings. What are "THESE THINGS"?Num 29:1 And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have a holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you. Num 29:2 And ye shall offer a burnt offering for a sweet savor unto the LORD; one young bullock, one ram, and seven lambs of the first year without blemish: Num 29:3 And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals for a bullock, and two tenth deals for a ram, Num 29:4 And one tenth deal for one lamb, throughout the seven lambs: Num 29:5 And one kid of the goats for a sin offering, to make an atonement for you: This is one of the sabbaths, and there are many sabbaths; yearly sabbaths, consequtive sabbaths, 70 year sabbaths, 50 year sabbaths, 8th day sabbaths, 9th day sabbaths, High Sabbaths, the list goes on and on:One cannot possibly keep the Sabbath unless they are doing "THESE THINGS".But one of the main features of the 7 day sabbaths, is that it is a rotating sabbath. In view of the rotating 7th day sabboth, we start at the month of Abib, THE START OF A NEW YEAR, then count 15 days, so right there 2X7 +1 day = 15, and THE HEBREW would now begin under a reschedule once again, which changes again.See if 7 even divides into 360 evenly. Some years they would remove a month, others they would add.The penalty for breaking this Sabbath law is death. Why did they want to kill the supreme example, Christ the Lord? Because He would not keep the Sabbath, and His disciples followed HIM. Why is it we see people that believe they keep the Sabbath, but don't do 'THESE THINGS', they do OTHER THINGS and FAIL to practice the penalty aspect. Was the penalty aspect ever rescinded? Why did God institute the weekly Sabbath to the Hebrew nation? Duet 4:15 (And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the Lord thy God commanded thee to keep the Sabbath day.) There are many many laws which must be kept in order to keep the sabbath, but the main feature is that it was given to Israel in the wilderness 2500 years after God created Adam, for the sole purpose of Israel's rememberance of their deliferance out of Egypt.Christ called Jerusalem 'spiritual Egypt', because they desired to keep the Sabbath.Luk 16:16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

Hello to all of youI felt a need to write The forum is a great place to learn make friends and fellowship, but what I have seen recently has troubled me First, I disagree with a lot of what is said in this forum, but this DOES NOT mean I dislike anyone or hate anyone or have a problem with anyone. A forum is a great place to learn, especially when we disagree. If I am always in agreement with you all, then I would spend much less time in the scriptures, but when we disagree I am forced to look at scriptures and see if I missed something or have misunderstood something. It gives me a chance to reexamine my beliefs, I am forced to examine myself and scriptureThere is nothing wrong with disagreements especially when we do it in Love.Epouraniois is only attempting to do what all of us want to do. Please God and share the truthIt is obvious to me that someone who knows the scriptures so well, only purpose is to share TRUTH. We are here for fellowship, encouragement and truth. Unfortunately we don’t all see things the same way. That is what is so great about a forum like this, we get a chance to see others opinions and then check our own beliefs. Then we can decide what truth is. This is not just good for those in the discussion, but for all those who will read the debate. They will have both sides and then decide what truth is. To accuse someone of hate or anger because we disagree is wrong. To call some one an anti Semitic Christian because he thinks the law has been fulfilled is very wrong. We are here to lift up not tare down. I also believe the law has been fulfilled, but happen to love Jewish people

If the Lord kept the Sabbath days, then why did they desire to kill Him for violating the Sabbath days?

Epo...They desired to kill Him for not keeping the Talmud....not the Word of God ...to say Jesus violated the Word of God is to make him a sinner... He never did violate Sabbath ordinance, but the Talmud..

If thou ask me, The Sabbath Days is suppose to be God's special day. But Pharisees made up many man made "rules" to "keep" the Sabbath Days "holy".Lord Jesus says in Mark 2:27 The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:Matthew 12:8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.Mark 2:28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.Luke 6:5 And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.Lovest ye in Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour.

John, thanks for that. I agree, a forum generally forces me to look things up all over again, and it is very good. Where you write "not TARE down", I wondered if the pun was intentional.betchevy, it is specifically written that they wanted to kill HIM because HE had 'broken the Sabbath', can we not just believe it?Joh 5:18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.How can that mean anything other than what the words themselves declare? HE had 'broken the Sabbath'; wherein we must examine if we have been granted THE authority to make these HS inspired words mean anything we want, because if this is so, then words have no meaning, making any study of them fruitless.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, and whoa.Where did you make this nonsense up at Epo? Christ was crucified for a myriad of reasons. I actually did a study on this and spent a large amount of time on this Bible study:http://www.christianityboard.com/attachmen...=2&d=1146035234Christ was not crucified for any real reason. The message of the Scriptures is that reasons were concocted all along the way. No one could be hung by a Roman for Jewish law unless something much greater was behind it.

Yes, He was crucified for various reasons, one of which was, as I acurately quoted, HE had 'broken the Sabbath'.Does your Bible say different things than mine or something? I am using the AV here, unless noted otherwise.

SwampFox,I must confess that I to take a deep breath there, and so failed to read the last portion of your post till now, which is as follows ~ ""Christ was not crucified for any real reason. The message of the Scriptures is that reasons were concocted all along the way. No one could be hung by a Roman for Jewish law unless something much greater was behind it. and feel the need to comment.""First, when you say 'hung', you are not overlooking or trivializing the fact our LORD was crucified under the reigning Roman law of the day?Secondly, your latter phrase almost seems to be as if you are purposely baiting me. Nevertheless, why do you think the Roman's were involved in the proceedings? Why do you think the Romans were still involved in Jewish affairs as far forward as Paul's imprisonment, and also after that? When you say "Christ was not crucified for any real reason", are not the fulfillment of Scriptures 'real'? Is what God has purposed not 'real'? The fact they would desire Barabbas over the LORD was 'real'. Where it is written over the tree, King of the Jews, it was 'real' truth. The fear that they would indeed receive a Kingdom and a Righteous ruler who would judge them was a 'real' possibility which really overwhelmed them, making their decisions based upon 'real' concerns of their own self justified but 'real' leadership as 'real' Pharisees. Their results are certainly 'real'. I always felt that their reasonings were very real. They were 'concocted' by the leadership of the Jews and the notes were taken by a witness of "real" Scribes. There was no allowances for His Messianic truth, which was 'real', and the Scribes did not write down lies regarding His having 'broken the Sabbath', which was 'real'.By way of Scripture, we find that Christ really did heal on the Sabbath day. Christ really did go out into the field for food on the Sabbath day. His disciples really did follow Him in these things on the Sabbath day. It goes on and on and on. John even writes in his Gospel, (John 21:25) "And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen". Now this may not state that He did all these things on the Sabbath, but Scripture is quite clear on the matter, The LORD Jesus had 'broken the Sabbath', which is 'real', and they sought to kill Him, which is also 'real'.Now, under Roman law, contrary to what you write, it is the Roman citizen who cannot be crucified (if this is what you meant when you wrote 'hung'), the Jew most certainly could, and was, in mass. Historical evidence is quite clear on that matter.Lastly, Christ said He laid down His life, no one took it from Him. Do you not think that God was using the Romans for the furtherance and fulfillment of the prophetic utterances? Are not governments but small specks of dust on the scales of God's measure? Do they not do His bidding? What saith the LORD?

You know the answer to that, but the LORD will be my judge on that one. It's obvious what I meant and this attempt to change the subject is something I've had enough of. I had to see it for myself, but you don't contribute to the board in a reasonable manner and I've had enough complaints from different people because they cannot seem to get a word in edgewise for nonsense like this. No one can respond to you because we're busy catering to your misleading and false statements. I'll simply leave it be at this and point out that you're original statement said:
Why did they want to kill the supreme example, Christ the Lord? Because He would not keep the Sabbath, and His disciples followed HIM.
It only changes when you get caught on it.
