I don't find it odd that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by fire and brimstone.
They sat upon plains of petroleum.
And today everything runs and is made with petroleum.
We use it to warm us, to cook with...
which reminds me of a verse:
Isa 44:15 Then shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take thereof, and warm himself; yea, he kindleth
it, and baketh bread; yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth
it; he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto.
Isa 44:17 And the residue thereof he maketh a god,
even his graven image: he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth
it, and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou
art my god.
And I don't find it odd that the world will burn at the end of the age.
Because we have made oil our money... and the love of money is the root of all evil.
Salt:
Gen 19:23 The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar.
Gen 19:24 Then
the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah
brimstone and fire from the LORD
out of heaven;
Gen 19:25 And he
overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and
that which grew upon the ground.
Gen 19:26 But his wife
looked back from behind him, and
she became a pillar of salt.
She became a pillar of salt.
Pillars of salt are formed in the flats as resevoirs for oil.
Resevoir is a holding place.
Lot's wife is a place holder in time.
Remember Lot's wife.
placeholder:

Lot's wife looked back...
Luk 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
Luk 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
Luk 17:27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
Luk 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
Luk 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed
them all.
Luk 17:30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
Luk 17:31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
Luk 17:32 Remember Lot's wife.
Luk 17:33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
Gen 13:10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and
beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it
was well watered every where,
before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah,
even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.
well watered, turned into slimepits..
before the great and terrible day of the Lord.
And the earth became void... (just a thought)
void of understanding.. turning back from the right paths..lost
Ye are the salt of the earth... the placeholders..
and yet our eyes are forward and not backward..
ploughing onward christian soldiers..
Salt..
