Nowhere at all in the Bible is anyone ever said to be righteous yet that person not having done any righteousness.
In Romans 4:5, there is a generic case of him that worketh not but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. This means that the Lord justifies the ungodly person...He declares them righteous when the moment before, they were ungodly.
What one does determines what one is and one who does unrighteous remains that way until he decided to do God's righteousness THEN he will be seen by God as righteous.
What one is determines what one does. We become righteous (in our inward parts) by faith; and as a result we do righteousness. But we are seen as righteous by the Lord even without works being on our side (Romans 4:5-6). This means that we are made righteous by faith, not by what we do. We then do righteousness because we have been made righteous through regenerating faith (see also Titus 3:5).
NO wrong dong/unrightoeus man was ever seen by God as righteous...such is not even logical.
The ungodly man is justified in Romans 4:5...God calls those things which be not as though they are (Romans 4:17); thus creating a new reality.
One's righteous works are witness, are proof that one is righteous.
Yes indeed...and this shows clearly that righteous deeds stem out of an inward righteousness that comes through faith.
One without righteous works has no proof, has no witness that he is righteous.
And here again, the works are the proof that one is righteous on the inside...and it is not that the man's inward righteousness is proof of his righteous works. Thus the root of the matter is an inward righteousness; and the fruit is righteous behaviour.
