Does anybody else schedule their housework and chores throughout the week?

I have started a whole weekly schedule on Outlook to keep myself from over working myself by trying to do too much.

Like laundry on certain days, cleaning out fridge before garbage day, dishes at a certain time (I try to use the dishwasher only after the Sabbath ends... Too much water use), and it has worked out with consistently modifying what doesn't work.

I did before I retired from work but not any more.

I make a to do list each day.

Today, I am minimizing it. My body simply needs rest and there's no getting around it.

I feel you. I had to force myself to stop making long lists because I just kept getting disappointed with myself over seeing things reoccurring and not getting done. I just don't always feel like it. I'm exhausted- mentally.

And, as a woman, there is one week of the month where I cannot get myself to do anything except the bare minimum, and work takes up most of the minimum at that time, so I decided to come to terms with it. This is the way that it is, and God designed it, so I may as well just work with it and not against it.

Absolutely. I started tracking my cycle and like clockwork, every month I just have to slow things down for a week.

As I get older (30 now) I just want my comfort, security, and familiarity.

Same here, so much it so, the family knows, on my first day, don't even expect anything of me, I'm sleeping the entire day and I cannot move - unless I absolutely have to go to work, then I'll go, but I'm not the 100% I need to be. I physically can't.

I found it really helpful in keeping om top of my cleaning. I printed a list of what to do and when and stuck it up behind a cupboard door in the kitchen.
I have a few index cards around my house with the kids chores and reminders for the rest of the house. :D

I can recognize myself in this. I've found out that I just do chores when I have the strength or are very motivated to do it, and it actually works for me. :thumbsupx1
I am kind of this way for a lot of things, but there's some stuff that has to get done at the right times. Fridge needs to get cleaned out the night before trash days, I want the dishwasher to only run after the Sabbath. (Doesn't work that way all of the time.)

Both of my grandmother's had 10 children and ended with eight, and both routinely washed dishes after dinner. My trouble is my blood sugar raises too quickly depending on what we have and will knock me out and I'll just fall asleep.

I'm sorry to hear about your blood sugar.
My husband is clever to do things when he sees the needs to do it, and i slowly try to be like that myself. :) I guess it's a habit, a good one.

When I feel overwhelmed with tasks, I pick two or three most important ones. Usually by then, Im feeling good enough to tackle other tasks.

That's a good idea. Andrew Huberman (neuroscientist) says if you do something you super, super don't want to first, your brain does everything else way easier. I try it.

But since last night, I had a severe flare up and couldn't get out of bed easily. So I did a few things and couldn't sleep because of my RLS. Tried a cold bath plunge (that is NOT fun) so my legs would stop moving and this morning just asked God to give me the Holy Spirit and lead me today, because I would not be able to do it on my own.

So he has, and I am grateful for that.

I think it’s good to make lists, but with realistic goals for each day, others wise you can run yourself into the ground and feel you have failed in some way.
Also prioritise what needs to be done and then make a list of jobs that you can choose to do over a period of time, and literally weigh up what you want to do and what time allows from that list.
I had four children and was working part time some days.
Also I found housekeeping came naturally to me, but came to realise it doesn’t with everyone, so recognise your gifting - I ended up being a housekeeper in a care home and I always saw it as a vocation. God gifts us natural abilities as well as spiritual ones.

It is not my gift. I accept that now and will supply a good effort in that area without stressing. We all have different gifts. Im not the decorator, housekeeper, or organizer. But Im very good at explaining things.

Yes we all have different gifts, I am not good at cooking - give me a house to clean any day over cooking a meal. I love to organise, but hopeless at leading anything ( definitely an Indian rather than a chief )

I normally have an idea of the things I need to do at night before and I mentally tick them off the next day but sometimes I can get sidetracked and I hear the lord prompting me to get off the Internet and finish those tasks. Sometimes I just let them go for another day but the lord keeps me on track most days. I have time management and organizational skills from my years of being in that type of work environment. The hard part is to realize I don't need to finish them straight away unless there is an objective and a timeline...
