This post is regarding the school shooting in Texas yesterday , Friday, May 18th, 2018.

As a Christian I hold fast with peace but do not believe that I have to stand with folded hands while a demon driven person slaughters the innocent. I have a concealed carry permit and several weapons. My wife is semi-disabled and would be an easy target for murderous predators. Not everyone is standing about waiting for us to preach them the gospel.

We depend upon prayer for our defense and I felt perfectly unafraid while street witnessing in some very spooky places. However I do not demand that others be shackled by my faith. Like the parents who refuse to take their sick children to a doctor because they're believing for their healing. I refuse to force what I believe upon others since we are all at different places in our measure of faith.

Regarding the school shootings of recent years;

The Israelis know how to protect their children and themselves. They don't consult psychologists to hear of the trauma children will experience by just seeing armed guards. The trauma of a child lying dead on a gurney is much greater and lasts forever. I've seen my daughter on one and have never been the same.

Before God was evicted from school there were in effect, no mass murder school shootings.

From 1620 until 1966 American schools had very few school shootings. Between 1840 and 1960 there were never more then 14 school deaths due to fire arms per decade. However after the 1962-1963 Supreme Court Rulings that Prayer and Bible reading were no longer allowed, violent shooting in schools began to rise. The first really horrific shooting occurred at the University of Texas in 1966 when Charles Whitman climbed the University of Texas Tower with rifles in hand and shot 14 people dead and injured another 31.
The following graph is very telling;

SmartSelectImage_2018-05-19-00-06-23-963x890.png

Between 1840 and 1959 the average was 7.8 deaths per decade. After the Supreme Court ruled against prayer and Bible reading in the schools the death rate jumped 323% from the previous decade. We are currently at 1464% increase over the 70 year average proceeding the 1962 rulings which removed God from the schools. Death data from 'wikipedia.org/wiki/School_shootings_in_the_United_States'.

I would like to believe that America will be great again but cannot. The election of Trump to office by the Lord has pulled our collective chestnuts out of the fire but the measure of hate and opposition he is receiving shows plainly how many are shouting for Ba'al to be their divinity of choice.

Everyone points at the liberal ungodly politicians but seem to forget the tens of thousands of like minded citizens that placed the anti-Christ representatives in office.

I'm grateful that the Lord put homeschooling upon our hearts as we were in control of their safety for many years until we placed them in public schools. By then their hearts were set as they'd been saved, filled with the Holy Spirit and had no TV at all until they were 7 or 8 and then just a closed monitor with videos we selected.

This protection of our schools is a must. I believe Trump will move on the behalf of their well being as we all continue with prayers.

The Israelis have no illusions as to what they are fighting against. That their enemies want them and their children dead. In America we must be like minded. Our enemy and his agents are here to kill, steal and destroy. Let prayers for protection continue.

Hi Frank. I am not sure precisley how, but I woud suggest that the Rockerfeller sponsored introduction of the Austrian/Jesuit inspired school curriculum in the early 20 th century played a part. It isn't black and white. I have sympathy for the legal gun owners in America. I grew up with firearms, my father and grandfather being gunsmiths, hunters, and competition shooters. I see other factors at play here though...including the video violence, play stations/xbox, movies etc in the entertainment industry. Good on you for homeschooling. My daughter and son in law teach at a Christian school, and they still homeschooled when they could. Education today is in tatters. The television is now the babysitter of choice, and Disney the school principal.
The present violence in America is devastating, and while I agree that an absence of religious instruction and prayer has played its role, the devil has thrown in many other contributing factors to reinforce his agenda. But gun control isn't the answer. Nor is widespread conceal and carry. Nor is a nuclear bomb on Hollywood (although that is tempting). The only solution for America is the deep heartfelt soul-searching repentance of the individual American people. Beginning with the church.

Hey there! I too grew up with and around guns. My father's large farm family lived many times on what they caught or killed to put food on the table.

The move away from the land in America brought ignorance so that children and adults have no idea where their very food comes from. This and disneylike teachings taught generations that it was wrong to kill animals for food. OK to buy ones others killed in factories. Paying others to kill for you. Not knowing all was placed here for us. One man told me doves were a Ho-leee bird and could not be killed!

I seldom carry a weapon but we live up in a very rural area in the woods and are always encountering rattlesnakes and predators. I've always had guns and always had a trust in God I'd never have to use them against a man. If my family is endangered by others that's another thing.

Same thing with self defense. The idea that it's wrong to defend yourself and others. There's a time to keep the sword in its sheath and a time to remove it. Being Christian does not mean being a victim or letting others be victims.

Psalm 94:16 KJVS
Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

Dr. Benjamin Rush

signer of the Declaration of Independence; Surgeon General of the Continental Army; Ratifier of the U. S. Constitution; Father of American Medicine; Treasurer of the U. S. Mint; Father of Public Schools Under The Constitution

The Gospel of Jesus Christ prescribes the wisest rules for just conduct in every situation of life. Happy they who are enabled to obey them in all situations! . . . My only hope of salvation is in the infinite transcendent love of God manifested to the world by the death of His Son upon the Cross. Nothing but His blood will wash away my sins [Acts 22:16]. I rely exclusively upon it. Come, Lord Jesus! Come quickly! [Revelation 22:20]

I do not believe that the Constitution was the offspring of inspiration, but I am as satisfied that it is as much the work of a Divine Providence as any of the miracles recorded in the Old and New Testament.

By renouncing the Bible, philosophers swing from their moorings upon all moral subjects It is the only correct map of the human heart that ever has been published.

[T]he greatest discoveries in science have been made by Christian philosophers and . . . there is the most knowledge in those countries where there is the most Christianity.

[T]he only means of establishing and perpetuating our republican forms of government is the universal education of our youth in the principles of Christianity by means of the Bible.

The great enemy of the salvation of man, in my opinion, never invented a more effective means of limiting Christianity from the world than by persuading mankind that it was improper to read the Bible at schools.

[C]hristianity is the only true and perfect religion; and in proportion as mankind adopt its principles and obey its precepts, they will be wise and happy.

The Bible contains more knowledge necessary to man in his present state than any other book in the world.

The Bible, when not read in schools, is seldom read in any subsequent period of life [T]he Bible should be read in our schools in preference to all other books because it contains the greatest portion of that kind of knowledge which is calculated to produce private and public happiness.

I agree 100% brake!

The violence in society, internet, cinema, games, etc.

The kid in the military that had like 1600+ confirmed drone kills was a xbox hack as a kid, they are creating computer games, and creating killers.

Killem, we get to spawn again, no sense of reality.

Throw in the absence of a father figure, tie law enforcement and school principals hands, and this is what ya get, chaos.

Guns don't kill, people do.

They are trying to classify and outlaw certain knives in London as we speak, recent knife murders.

The need to ratchet back on the internet, cinema, and computer games, get the Liberals out of the school room, put the paddle back in the teachers hand, that would be a start.

We were blessed not to have been raised after the electronic revolution. We were always outside and I spent much time as a child on the creek banks and in the woods.

So much is unnatural now. We determined that after the Lord spoke to us about the children He was going to send that they be separated from those things. We had no TV and our kids were homeschooled. They played as children were intended with each other, reading, art, even having self created Christian plays.

As a result we helped give them a love of reading. They are avid readers of the Bible and of whatever is interesting and worthwhile. They have their smart phones as adults now but have a sound beginning.

I feel so for children I see out in public. So many seem nervous and dissatisfied. So many little ones are always crying with mothers seemingly preoccupied at their cell phones.

You can truly see them as sheep wandering around without a shepherd.

My teachers were WWII and Korean war vets as was my dad who was a teacher at the school for the deaf. They were ZERO nonsense. My shop teacher had a gray streak in his hair at his forehead where a snipers bullet grazed him. These men were stern but fair, no nonsense but always ready to listen.

I'm getting old now fellows but I really miss the men and women of those days. They taught from experience not theory.

Like the pic Frank, the family is starting out.

I grew up a few years behind you, but the teacher was still able to grab you by the shirt collar and smack ya in the head, with the parents blessing.

I had a fourth grade teacher that would swat me at school, because I was a tyrant, then put me in her car, drive me home and tell my mom for the second round, as her and my mom had a cup of coffee.

No joke!

I went back 25 years ago to visit this teacher before her retirement, she had her paddle in the drawer, unused in the past 5 years, she stated she was only able to salvage half the class, her hands were tied.

Times have changed, Liberal chaos.

My son in law is a principal of a school with two campuses, from grade 1 to 12. He is a very conservative Christian. He doesn't teach anymore, just admin. But he shares with me some of the problems (no names of course) that he has to confront on a daily basis. Trying to do things God's way, but by law having to observe government regulations and politically correct manifestos, as well as his staff and parents who can cover all extremes from left to right. He would make a great tight-rope walker. But I do not envy him in the slightest, but believe me, the parents do not realise what gold they have in his being their children's principal. But from my observation, (and I am around the school a lot and interact with many of the students both here at home at youth groups and at church) I can tell he is much loved and respected. But the system that he must work under is slowly strangling the life out of the real education the kids need. Praise God the school is a private Christian school, and the Bible holds a prominent place in school life. Only 25% of the school students are actually Christians! But quality is recognised, even by secular parents who want only the best for their kids. But its a battle.

The answer is in public vouchers, giving parents the ability to bury the Liberal public schools with their choice.

After we had children the thoughts of home schooling came. We first thought there's no way we can do this. After awhile the thought became there's no way we can not do this.

We went to a home school seminar and the speaker told of a baby born with several major birth defects. Doctors had tried to get the mother to abort the baby but she refused. She kept and raised him. The speaker described the defects and then stunned us by saying "I am that baby".

For with God nothing shall be impossible.

I regret that present generations will never get to see what I got to see. It is passed away and shall not return. But where Jesus is allowed liberty there will be grace in all things.

I have heard Dr Ben Carson a little on this. And some media in NZ (when I lived there) also supported school vouchers. One commentator in particular who had ties in Texas was very vocal in his support, and from the little I understand of the American system, it seems a good solution. Not sure of the situation here in Oz, but certainly I am sure any improvement on choice with easier funding would be great.

I live here in Texas. Any school that did not prepare for such events in this time is foolish. They have all the political support behind them to do so. Same with any church. And when I say 'prepare', I don't mean to shelter in place.

Churches here now have a plan and people in place when such things happen. As they should.

In the beginning of this country, our white Christian forefathers were willing to protect their women and families from the heathern. Now, they turn them over to them. Disgusting.

As Christians it might be argued that we need no guns. As a nation though we do. One of the first things done in a nation's overthrow is disarming the people. e.g. Germany...

Great Britain and Australia have been disarmed and are now being overrun with illegal aliens/immigrants.

What are the anti Christian liberals wanting to do? Even the criminal immigrants are being protected.

You don't have to be Belshazzar to see this wall writing.

I agree 100%, as the UK banned basic Gun ownership, now they are trying to ban certain types of "Knives" because of recent Knife murders, no joke.

Cuba, Venezuela, And A Whole Bunch More In Light Of Being "Disarmed" and taken over..

Venezuela 20 years ago was giving away basically free gas and food to the people under Hugo Chavez, The Communist Dictator, The Guns Were Rounded Up, And Now They Have No Food, Medicine, Or The Ability To Revolt Bearing Arms, Chaos!
