Hey, I am having a bit of a spiritual crisis, and really do not know what to believe anymore. I used to be a Christian when I was younger, but that was basically b/c my mom forced church upon me and I felt pressured to become a Christian. Since then I have basically become what they call an agnostic atheist, which means I have no idea what is out there. I'd like to believe that there is a god, but w/ the evidence out there, how can anyone even be sure? And even if there is one, how can you know that it is the Christian God? There are so many religions out there, most of which existed way before Christianity, so how can anyone possibly know one way or another? If anyone can help me out w/ my search for the truth, I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks.

He is the great, "I AM". He exists independent of man's definition of him. He does not need us, we need him. He gives us the most wonderful things, peace, hope, love, beauty, protection in the midst of the storm. Look at the beauty of the world he created, look in the eyes of a new born child and see the miracle of life.I remember a story about a communist official, who was a confirmed atheist. He had the most beautiful baby girl and as he was admiring her beauty, he instantly became aware that God was real, for nothing so beautiful could happen by chance. Without a church or a bible, he instantly became a believer. At great risk to his life, he escaped with his family to freedom, because he loved his daughter so much he did not want her to grow up believing a lie as he had.

I have asked for that many times when I was still a Christian, and never got an answer. Any time I tried to pray to God I felt like I was talking to myself.

Hi Wolf, hope you are making out ok on your journey, I found that we need to come to God with an honest , open , sincere heart, and ask forgiveness and to accept jesus christ as our personal saviour and trust me God knows when we are sincere, once we have done this we open up the 2 way communication with God through his son Jesus, I hope this helps you understand what it takes so we don't feel like we are just whistling dixie when we pray,lol, God will reveal himself if we accept his son into our life's and let God be ruler. please find yourself a bible to read and learn as much as you can from it, God bless you brother, take care.Topcat
