Does that include ads that have countless times been declined with a promise not to show it again, but it keep appearing every time I click on a new page....even to open the Bible...that is most inappropriate. I am not remotely interested in this book...and when I click to dismiss it, it takes a few seconds to disappear, only to pop up again and again!......how do I get rid of this ad?

How is this kind of advertising any incentive to buy something that has become a absolute pain in the neck?

You could try using a browser that has an ad blocker like firefox or checking to see if you can install an ad blocker into your current browser like AdBlock.

I checked out the ad blockers and they want full access to your computer.....that is a lot to give people you don't know, or to wonder what they might do with your personal information....I am leaning towards not trusting anyone anymore....

How are the scammers getting our unlisted Mobile phone numbers? The harassment never stops!

I am wondering why advertisers think that pestering people at the most inappropriate times, with inappropriate products will win over customers....it has the opposite effect on me. It makes me NEVER want to touch their stuff...ever.

I suggest there be a membership free for those who want to be ad free, I will gladly pay that fee.

Why not just get a free adblock on your computer rather than opening this can of worms....and by the way, why should you be called a supporter when every member here supports this forum in some capacity and some member/supporters have adblocks uploaded already, so they don't see any ads?

Thank you for doing that. It has fixed up the response issues that have creeped in over the last couple of months. You have fixed the band width of the computer so that it can handle the increase in the number of members and visitors on this site.

Ad blockers want total access to our computers and we have learned through experience not to trust those who want to do that.

Other sites have premium membership that for a small fee, will eliminate the ads.
I am being driven to distraction by the same pop ups that Google says they will stop but they never do. When the ads pop up they reload the page intruding where they are not welcome. Even when you dismiss them there is this 5 second lag so you have to see it anyway.
This kind of “in your face” totally intrusive commercialism has no place on a Bible discussion site.

Ask the members who would be willing to support the site without the ads and I am sure the new owner would be surprised at the number who are willing to do that.

Can we have a poll? These ads are ruining one of the best sites on the net.

I have not had any issues with adblock when I added their extention. This may have to go to the team for discussion as it will definitely change the way we have to do things and possibly the amount of time we spend here as volunteers...Also affecting members who cannot afford it.

@Angelina any reduction in the intrusive nature of the advertising would be an improvement.
These ads are being shoved in our faces every time we click the mouse. Every time to load a page. They are not subtle in the background kind of advertising but harassing and badgering. It won’t make anyone want to buy the products....just the opposite.

I downloaded Adblock, there are no adds anywhere I go on the internet.

It's free but don't know how long that will last.

You do know that nothing is “free”...there is a payoff somewhere behind the scenes and someone is benefitting.....at our expense. Make no mistake....it’s a commercial world with no scruples.
