Thank you for sharing and also for praying.
I was diagnosed with hiatal hernia and ulcers at age 14. It contributed to awful reflux. I had an EGD and colonoscopy in 2009 at age 37 after an assault. I was told I had severe inflammation of my stomach lining. They prescribed the standard meds that may help symptoms, but increases your chance of stomach and esophageal c.ncer. NO, thank you! I stopped Dr Peppers and Barq's rootbeer, and went to only water and organic milk. And I began drinking ACV and aloe vera juice, lemon juice (in water) ...things like that. And the reflux decreased significantly, and then went away.
Sure thing! I feel your pain as I have had haital hernia since a time of major stress in my 20's. It didn't really bother me until I got older.
I've found that eating less always helps- don't eat til feeling full. Beware of certain foods- I think it varies which foods to be mindful of for different people. Don't eat late at night. You know the drill. Vinegar definitely helps me. I do take pepcid when it gets out of control. I don't like to but I need to. I also need to be sure I get enough fiber= veggies n fruits.
Be careful about "organic" milk in the stores as it is almost always "ultra pasteurized" It's worse than milk that isn't organic but is pasteurized but not "ultra".
The enzymes naturally in raw milk are needed to digest it properly but are destroyed by heat of pasteurizing. That's the kicker.
Milk doesn't need to be pasteurized at all UNLESS it is left out in the heat. It needs to be kept cold. We began pasteurizing milk due to careless dairy farmers allowing it to sit without chilling it.
I'm fortunate to live near dairy farmers who are organic and raw. All of the enzymes needed to digest the dairy are still intact. Kefir is very healing too but beware of it if not raw. If you have dairy farmers nearby see what they offer.
Lemon juice to your water-and sip throughout the day is very good!! I drink it as well. The acid in the lemon works much like vinegar- Adding acid tells the body that there is enough acid already so you produce less. I used to take aloe caps but found I didn't need them.
Another thing I find helpful is a digestive enzyme after meals.
An awful lot of people of all ages have reflux or other digestive ailments now. I attribute to GMO's in foods. Animals don't do well with gmo feed and we sure don't either. It's hard to believe how everything processed sold is full of canola or soy, corn etc oils- they are all GMO. They are very inflammatory to the gut. I buy my meats thru a farmer too. For eggs- I have my own chickens.
It could be the mental stress of the heat stroke flaired up your gut even more. If you are like me- stress goes right to the gut.
Be well my friend. I'm sorry this happened to you. Come on fall!
