Hi,What you are apparently trying to distract from is that these men are in leadership and the Bible is VERY clear about who is and who is not eligible for leadership in churches. Do most RC men sexually abuse children? If not (and I don't believe the average RC man does sexually abuse children) why should they be led by the worst sort of sinners? Jesus Himself had very harsh words for people who would sexually abuse children as well as tempting young teen boys to sin (see Luke 17:2). In the ancient Middle East, the heathens and pagans were guilty of such (and worse) and God routed them out of the Land. He told Israel that if they did such things, that the Land would "vomit" them out as well. Will the RCC "vomit" out these men from their midst?
I agree with you, "the Bible is VERY clear about who is and who is not eligible for leadership in churches." The Apostles chose who was "eligible for leadership in churches" by voting for whom they wanted (Acts 1:26, Acts 6:3) and by choosing reliable men to replace them. Those reliable men were to then choose other reliable men (2 Timothy 2:2) and they were to lay hands upon them (1 Timothy 4:14, Acts 13:2) and they were not to take lightly the responsibility of laying hands upon their successor (1 Timothy 5:22). It's called Apostolic Succession.
Today if a person gives a good sermon, looks good on TV and has enough likability or money to start his own church, he is considered a "Church leader". Protestants have denied what Scripture teaches in this matter.
Yes, the RCC has been removing these men from their midst. But I suspect you already knew that if you keep up with the news.
I wonder how many of these "worst of sinners" are leading your Church.....
BTW...I'm not trying to distract from anything. My simple point is whichever of you is without sin you can cast the first stone at those Catholic men. I choose not to throw stones at them. I would like to add Matthew 7:3 to that point also.
