I'm sure most of us males got a thrill from furtively looking at porn mags in our younger days, and although it was fun at first, I personally began hating the awful shallowness of it all, and as the years passed I grew to hate it, and most of my pals felt the same way, eventually they got married and settling down to raise kids in a warm loving family environment. So in that respect porn mags provided a useful service in showing us the awfulness of cold loveless sex and putting us off it forever, and making us appreciate all the more the beauty of real true love between men and women..PS - I never married myself (I'm 50+) because I never wanted to be a family man, and anyway I never met a woman I wanted to marry, so I settled down to a nice quiet easy-going life alone, maybe I should have become a monk and shut myself away in a remote monastery, ha ha ha..

i agree, but i still have a problem of acting on fornication. i really do not want to be crude here. but we are all adults. men are different , but that does not excuse us. i am single and i know jesus will forgive me. but i have to repent one day. so far today i have been good. i agree we will have sexual urges but through jesus we can control it , if we give him ultimate control. i have a hard time with that in this area. i do not go out and have one night stands anymore, but i have been guilty lately. but today as JESUS TAUGHT i have been good thus far. we are sinners however. we all have our super weaknesses. we are all weak =thus we need jesus. but sooner or later we need to repent! sooner better than later> jesus can guide us through all areas of life and we can quit these sins through him. with jesus all things are possible, if we depend on ourselves really nothing is possible. yes we are going to sin, but i do not have to yell at someone to get a point across. we will never be sinless on this earth, but if we ask his forgiveness he will blot those sins out. but if i think i can just sin and keep asking for forgiveness , i am missing the point of jesus' ministry. have i opened up a can? feels like i am squirming like a snake.
Read 1 Corinthians 7. It is natural to burn and have urges. But do not let them lead you to lusting after a woman but contain the urges to thoughts on the feelings alone. And go find a wife. It is better to marry than burn with passion. If having an erection was a sin and feeling the urges are, then why did God say go forth and multiply?God told Adam and Eve, do not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the garden. But he told them to go forth and multiply. Now that tells me sex and it's urges are not sin. For God told them to do this and yet told them what they cannot do. When the law came the rules for sexual contact was brought in also., this showed God cares about our well being in all areas of our lives. In a place with no sanitation and where clothes could not be washed. How would people survive any sexual diseases which would of been passed around in the wilderness? I believe sex and the urges are normal and not sinful. However letting them rule you in such a way you go to porn movies or read mags, lust after women you know,go to prostitues; this is clearly the fornication and sin.(I believe sex within marriage is how all those urges and release is meant to be.) Men however have to control their urges when single, but having those urges are not wrong. And you show self-control when you do not release them in the above ways or fantasize about others. There is nothing in the bible that says masturbation is a sin. It is not mentioned. But our minds should be kept free of lusting after the things which are the real sin and fornication. I believe it is time you got real and asked yourself when you are going to trust the Lord with this matter and ask him to show you who he has for a partner for you. It is better to marry than burn with passion.Faithful.

the devil weaves a horrible web. he can decEIVE us into believing anything if we do not shod ourselves with god's word. and sex is a favorite weapon of his. left to our our designs we are capable of ANYTHING. just flip on the news and you see it everywhere. the devil edges into our life with sexual promiscuity. he tells us it is ok, god gave us sex for our pleasure. we are bombarded with the wordly view of sex that is sensual. we do believe in the devil in here, no? i do! he is a dragon, with a GREAT TALE! HOW BOUT THEM GEORGIA BULLDOGS=WHOOF WHOOF WHOOF

I think the hardest part is reaching out for help from other people. It is that way with any hidden sin.
Please pray with me that Christians will have the heart of Jesus in helping and relating to people with sexual problems. Also, please pray that Christians will be able to discuss sexual issues openly, honestly and with compassion using the Bible as our guide.God bless.

You and your friends are blessed to have risen above your initial introduction to sex through porn mags, etc. Unfortunately, too many men have not been able to do that. Please pray that God will help those who are still living in this "cold loveless sex" life to see that there is a way out and that is through the Power of Repentance.God bless.

just go find a wife huh! ok=lol.ah=no thank you=i am not interested right now=but thanks for the advice. i never said that getting a boner was a sin. he wants us to multiply with our opposite gendered mate=god does. but if we are not married and have sex that is fornication. most men(i am one) do burn for the opposite gender. that is natural, but when we are preoccupied with sex and we act on it(however that may be) that is sensual and lascivious=lewd in the eyes of god. i can quote you a ton of scripture on it.most came from paul who was single , i believe.do not fool yourself, if you are acting on these sexual urges it is an abomination to god=unless it is your wife. believe me=I AM NO SAINT. i hear ya full, but maybe god has a plan for us=we may just have the gift of being single.

Tim,I personally clearly understand where you are coming from, I wrestle with these problems alot, even while being married!I married my first wife because I read the scripture that it was better to marry than too burn and it was a dissaster from day one.We were married for 5years and she was unfaithful 5 times and I just could'nt make it work. I've been married too my current wife for 12 Years. We have a wonderful relationship, but I still wrestle with sexual desires for other women some times. It is very difficult to resist these urges! When I got saved, God supernaturally delivered me from drugs, alcohol, and alot of other horrible sins. But this one I constantly battle over!I think that the problem is that we like this sin too much to give it up!God can and will deliver us but we have to ask Him to help us to not want this horrible desire anymore. But everyone no matter who it is has trouble with some area in there life. But we grow from Glory to Glory!

It was impossible for me to resist food. Food was my lover. It was not until I admitted my powerlessness and turned control of food over to God that I found relief. I do not believe that God wants us to try to resist our urges but to release these feelings to Him to control. Everyday I ask the Lord Jesus to control every part of me including the food I eat and my sexual feelings. I still have struggles. But I now know that it is not because I did not try hard enough to control these urges. It is because I chose to take back control from God.

It helps for me whenever I get urges to tell God, "Lord, take care of my urges, and control my body." Then clear out your mind. And proceed to what ever you are doing.

i am a holic, i know your pain. if i can just be faithful to jesus, maybe his plans include a wife for me, maybe not. another one of my compulsions is alcohol. i have been sober now for 20 months= and my big book is the bible. i just recently started going back to AA because i know when i am vulnerable=always. and we went over the 4th step last night in the little blue book, and the whole chapter was on SEX. and women have a problem with it too. tough subject=but being preoccupied with sex is not being occupied with jesus. i have been a "sex aholic for years". read new testament scripture on sex. it is clear and unambiguous.

I just wanted to congratulate you on 20 months of sobriety. That is an awesome accomplishment. Nothing is impossible when we are “occupied with Jesus”.God bless you and keep the faith.
