As a believer and follower of Jesus' Words - when he said - give me your burdens and do
not worry, fear not, have no fear...and when Paul said to the Philippians
Be anxious for nothing ---that is exactly what I did when I read all this in that moment a few years ago.
As we say the word worry non-chalantly as others do on TV, on the News, in novels, on the
street -"No worries, I'm not worried, You don't have to worry, I'm worried,
Don't worry about it and on and on...) we program our subconscious to ....worry!
We are telling ourselves it is "normal"...everyone does it...it is part of the human condition.
How many times have I heard this...
If I point it out to friends - their excessive use of this word and how they are programming their mind
as I said above - 9 out of 10 people resist and come up with -"Well, everybody worries and besides it's just a word!"
Yes, it is a word.
In my opinion when a person says they are a follower of Jesus - he is their teacher, guru, master,
Rabbi, Savior, friend... whatever -then
that means you actually follow what he said to do - this seems to be a very overlooked lesson of his.
I just wanted to bring it up bec it is so freeing to never worry again; to rely on God completely -
whether you have lost your keys so you may be late - to how am I going to pay for the $1000 car repair...
To be anxious for nothing - as opposed to Be anxious for 10% of things - - is very clear.
Paul could have easily said - be anxious for this or that.
Jesus could have said, 'Give me most of your burdens - the rest you're going to have figure out yourselves.'
But neither did. I believe that when Jesus says all or nothing - that is what it means.
We are not to worry about anything - we are to cast our cares on him - ask for anything
in his name and he will do it. (John 14:14)
Even help me find my car keys or help me lose weight or anything according
to his will - and our happiness and abundance is his will.
Practice for one week to cast your cares on him - note how often people use the word worry - and see the difference - relying
and trusting in God completely for every little thing and see how it goes.
...if you're not doing that already.
