Yes it was announced this morning, there are also restriction for 16-18 years olds, but not complete bans for that age group. We are following Australia. I think it’s a good thing, the ban is not automatic, it’s going to be phased in by Spring next year. Obviously the young people are not going to be happy about it - but something has to be done.

I thought it would be interesting to hear what teens are saying about it. The BBC thought so too.

Interesting comments from the children - not sure parents could sort this out as I think it needs to be from the actual social media platforms as well. We have had quite a few suicides over here with young people and it’s been proved that the algorithms pull up content that has contributed to the young peoples mental health and eventual suicide.

Isn't this news and current events? Not Interfaith?

This is the only forum where “Other Faith” members have posting privileges. Having changed my registration from “Christian” to “Other Faith” nearly four years ago (as a gesture of peace on my part to Christian members who were publicly demanding that I not be allowed to become a member) this is the only place place I could put it. I would like to discuss it with both “Christian” and “Other Faith” members. That wouldn’t be possible, even if I could post it in the “Christians Only” forum.

As I understand it from this side of the ocean, the ban affects Christian and non-Christian / Other Faith teenagers.
