Unfortunately, the way many Bibles are written, they have separated 5:21 from the rest of the chapter. After 5:21, they have it titled something like the Christian household or husband and wife responsibilities (paraphrasing). Not all Bibles do this though. My Catholic NRSV, 5:21 is with the rest of the chapter titled The Christian household.

There is a verse before that. A verse that has no qualifications to it. It doesn't say, to submit one to another, except husbands and wives, out of reverence for Christ. It says, submit one to another, out of reverence for Christ.

The "divine yolk" didn't start at Eph 5:22.
It began with Genesis 1:26. In the beginning, God NEVER said, "Have dominion over your wife...or your husband."
No dominion. No superiority. That was God's ORIGINAL intention.

God DID however say that a "MAN shall leave his father and mother and cleave unto his WIFE." (Gen 2:24) It does NOT say that a WOMAN or a WIFE shall leave HER family and cleave unto her HUSBAND" And yet, that's exactly what you patriarchists ignore. SOME societies subscribe to that way of thinking. Others don't. Most women back then left their own families to be with husband. And yet...the bible doesn't say to do that. Hmmmm...

Yeah, according to you, woman is supposed to leave HER family and be "joined" with MAN...only because your patriarchal arrogance dictates so...and not because GOD said so. You want to IGNORE what happened BEFORE the fall, and BLAME the fall on Eve.

I thought she was saying trade wives do it better and I was not sure what she meant. Thought it meant something like farmer wives or something lol.

I don’t know what some thinks that the best for them is the best for everyone. My fiancee is kind of 50/50. She wants to work a few hours a day each morning at a floral design shop and work a few hours from home doing mock designs and so on. Doing all the plant brokerage ordering stuff and so on.

As I said, a traditional marriage would not work for me. Traditional marriages do not work for every marriage. Just as egalitarian marriages do not work for every marriage.

What works for that particular marriage is what she be done for that marriage and not something that will not work.

I am not a leader. I know this about myself. A traditional marriage where I am the leader would not work. I am not going to do something that will not work. That would be foolish.

I will not be changing how this marriage will be. It will be as I have described it in this thread.

If I did it the traditional way, my marriage would be a disaster. So, I’m not going against what I know about myself. I know I am not a leader and I know a traditional marriage will not work for us.
