The city is 1200 square miles. 1200 miles high should be plenty of light for the rest of the earth.

The light from God only lights the city. That's why there is never night there. Night in other cities, the Sun and Moon all still will exist.

Rev 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
Rev 21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
Rev 21:25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

You missed this part. You said the light is only for the city itself. Clearly it is a light for the whole world.

Nope, it's only for the city and those who walk in it.

Nope, it's only for the city and those who walk in it.
I guess these verses have no meaning then?

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house."

You need a tiny little light called the sun, but a 1200 square mile light hundreds of times bigger will not produce enough light? Does that mean science prevails over God's Word once again?

The verse does not say they walk in the city. It says they walk in the light of the city.

"And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it."

This verse is a symbiotic trade. Symbiotic: denoting a mutually beneficial relationship between different people or groups. The city is a light to the world, and the kings share their glory with the city.

Jeremiah 25:30-38 The Lord roars from on high. He thunders from His holy place. He roars loudly against His holy Land and like a grape treader, He shouts against all the inhabitants of the earth. The great noise is heard around the world. For the Lord brings His judgement against the nations, He arraigns all mankind and hands over the wicked and godless to the sword.

The Lord says, ‘Disaster spreads from nation to nation, a mighty tempest is unleashed, that will blast to every corner of the world’. Those whom the Lord has killed on that Day will be strewn from one end of the earth to the other, they will not be mourned or buried, but left as dung upon the ground.

Cry out you bad shepherds and useless leaders of My people, the Day comes for your demise, you will fall like prize rams to the slaughter. There will be no escape from the Lord’s fierce anger, like a lion leaping to the kill.
Disaster will suddenly strike and their land will become desolate because of the fiery wrath of the Lord.
Ref: REB, CJB.

It is now time to realize that this terrible, worldwide disaster is soon to happen.
In no way has this prophecy been fulfilled yet and this cannot be at the Return, as it must be before that: He thunders from His holy place…. He sends down fire… Amos 1 & 2:1-5, Psalms 18:13, Psalms 11:4-6, Revelation 6:12-17 and Revelation 14:17-20

Many other prophesies vividly describe this sudden and shocking, Day of the Lord’s wrath, a one day event: as fire from the sky, a Coronal Mass Ejection sun explosion, that will literally fulfill all of them. Psalms 83 tells how fire and tempest will destroy those attackers of Israel and details like ‘the sky rolled up like a scroll’, and the ‘moon blood red’, are also literal effects of a massive earth directed C M E.
Isaiah 30:26-30, Isaiah 66:14-16, 2 Peter 3:7

The millions killed on that Day won’t be buried because there won’t be enough survivors to do that and the extreme heat of a CME and the fires caused by it, will reduce the dead to ashes. Malachi 4:3, Jeremiah 9:22

Those who have led the people astray with their false teachings, fictional books and poor leadership will be judged and punished on that Day. Micah 3:1-4, Isaiah 56:10-12

The world as we know it now, will not continue for much longer, prophecy is given to us as a warning of what will happen and for us to be Spiritually and physically prepared, so we can stay strong and keep trusting in the Lord to keep us safe, because He plans for the good of His own faithful Christian people. Jeremiah 29:11, Psalms 37:29

As all the faithful Christians gather and settle into all of the holy Land. Romans 9:24-26.....in the very place, [that ancient Israel was rejected] you Christians will be called the children of the Living God. Ezekiel 34:11-16, Isaiah 35

Colossians 1:11-12 In His glorious might may He give you ample strength to meet with fortitude and patience whatever comes and to give joyful thanks to the Father who has made you fit to share in the heritage of God’s people, in His Kingdom of Light.
The King will come later; for the Millennium. Revelation 19:11

The city produces ZERO light. The light comes from Christ:

Rev 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

The verse does not say they walk in the city.

Wrong.

Rev 21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
Rev 21:25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
Rev 21:26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
Rev 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Obviously people are walking through the open gates into the city, where the light from Christ is.

Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

You clearly haven't studied this properly. You really need to listen more and try to teach much less.

The sun – our life sustainer, emits a continuous stream of heat in the form of charged particles, otherwise known as the solar wind. The sun is actually a pulsating star and this creates a variable energy output. This variation in energy has not been so great as to cause serious problems on earth, although ice ages and heat waves have been felt in the past.

Because the sun, and all the solar system rotates around its center of gravity every 11.1 years, this spin orbit coupling means that the solar plasma [liquid surface] circulates with it, producing an 11.1 year solar cycle. Due to planetary pull at alignments plus an acceleration and deceleration process, there is a time of increased solar flare activity, now, in 2022 is numbered as Solar cycle 25. In the past this has been evidenced by aurora displays, and research indicates slightly warmer temperatures are due to solar flares. Because, in the lead up to Solar Cycle 25, there have been very few flares, we have experienced exceptionally cold winters over the past few years.

In September of 1859, the entire earth was engulfed in a cloud of super charged gas and a brilliant aurora erupted from the poles to the tropics. Around the world, telegraph systems failed, switch gear burst into flames and operators were shocked. Compasses and other instruments reeled as if struck by a massive magnetic fist.
Another, much smaller CME, struck Quebec in 1989, damaging their electricity grid.

All satellite operators are ready to shut down their services as soon as a CME is reported, as are communications, airlines, electricity suppliers, etc, in the hope of saving their equipment. [and staff!!!]

Sunspots, recorded up to 37,000 km in diameter, appear as dark spots on the surface of the sun. There is a strong magnetic field within each sunspot and they flare out in conjunction with another sunspot, so the ejection has North/ South polarity. In other words it is a mass with a magnetic field, the same as our planet. In conjunction with increased magnetic activity, more ultra violet energy is emitted, therefore the sun shines brighter and hotter. Reference; various sources

As we read in Isaiah 30:26-28 ...the Lord Himself comes from afar, His anger blazing and His doom heavy, His tongue a devouring fire. He sieves out the nations for destruction. The sun will shine with seven times its normal brightness, on the Day the Lord heals His people. Malachi 4:1

This description, along with many other prophecies, can only be explained literally by a CME. In no way does it fit the judgement on the armies of the Anti Christ that Jesus destroys by the sword of His Word, at the Return.

This enormous solar flare will be something ‘the like has never been known, nor will be in the ages to come’ Joel 2:2.
Jeremiah 51:52-57 A time is coming when I shall punish the idols and godless peoples of Babylon [a metaphor for all peoples who deny God] Sounds of great destruction come from their land, the advancing wave booms and roars, like mighty waters. For the Lord, a God of retribution, will repay in full. Jeremiah 25:30-33,
Isaiah 5:24-30, Isaiah 24:19-20, 2 Peter 3:7

THE LORDS WRATH – how will it happen?
This much prophesied, still to come, Lords Day of vengeance and wrath – will happen at the same time as an attack against Israel. Psalms 7:12-16 People think there may be a nuclear exchange, but what is more certain is what the prophets say:
Jeremiah 50:25 The Lord opens His armoury and brings forth the weapons of His wrath, for this is His work to be done in the lands of the godless peoples.
Isaiah 34:5 For My sword appears in heaven, it descends in judgement.
Psalm 11:4-6 The Lord is in heaven, raining fiery coals onto the wicked.
Isaiah 66:15-16 See, the Lord is coming in fire, like a whirlwind. He will judge with fire, His sword will test mankind and many will be slain by Him.
Isaiah 33:10-12 Now I shall arise, says the Lord, I will exalt Myself. You will be as chaff and stubble, a wind like fire will consume you. Whole nations will be heaps of white ash, like thorns cut down and set on fire.
Psalm 144:5-6 Lord, part the heavens. Make lightning flashes far and wide.
Isaiah 30:30 Then the Lord will make His voice heard in majesty...descending in fierce anger with devouring flames of fire amid storms and hail.
Jeremiah 30:23-24 See what a scorching wind has gone out from God, a sweeping whirlwind which whirls around the heads of the wicked. The Lords fierce anger is not to be turned aside until He has fully accomplished His purposes. In Days to come you will understand.
Isaiah 29:5-6 Yet, the horde of Your enemies will crumble into dust, fly away like chaff. Suddenly in an instant punishment will come from the Lord, with storms, thunder, earthquakes and great noise and a flame of devouring fire.
Isaiah 9:19 The land is scorched by the Lord, the people are like fuel for the fire.
Isaiah 10:17 The Light of Israel will become a fire, its Holy One a flame, which, in one day will burn up and consume His thorns and briars.
Isaiah 30:26-30 On the Day that the Lord saves His people, the sun will shine with seven times its usual brightness and the moon will be as bright as the sun.
See; the Lord comes from afar, His anger blazing and His doom heavy. His lips are charged with wrath and His tongue is a devouring fire. His breath is like a torrent in spate. He sieves out the nations for destruction.
Isaiah 63:1-6

What these (and many other) prophecies, seem to be describing is sunspot activity.
Maybe the sun is building up to a huge Coronal Mass Ejection, something we do experience with minor CME’s. They happen very suddenly and unexpectedly, reaching earth within hours and are capable of causing enormous damage and deaths worldwide.
All electrical and communications systems, industry, transport; our modern infrastructure could be destroyed, or at least severely damaged. Armies would be back to 1800’s technology.

A CME explosion of the suns surface, as described in Isaiah 30:26, with the sun flashing 7 times brighter, would be one of unprecedented magnitude and would literally cause all the graphically prophesied effects. For example; the moon would shine bright red as it reflects this sun explosion and our satellites would crash to the earth, like ripe figs falling.

In our Bibles the sun and the moon are mentioned many times. Some are allegorical, but most describe actual changes and differences to those visible objects.

The sun and the moon are established in the heavens, in the known area of space, which continues into infinity. Psalms 74:16, Jeremiah 31:35

The sun and the moon are also used metaphorically; Psalms 84:11, Micah 4:2 and Matthew 15:43 tell us about the sun of Righteousness. Revelation 12:1 tells about a ‘woman’ clothed with the sun, who represents faithful Israel, who are now; every true Christian person.

However: there are many Bible prophesies which plainly describe dramatic changes to the sun and the moon. Isaiah 30:26 says that the sun will shine with seven times its normal brightness and the moon will reflect it, as it does now, at about a seventh of the suns current strength. This event is what Luke 21:23, Revelation 6:12-17 and more than 100 other verses prophesy - the terrible Day of the Lord’s fiery wrath.

Then other Prophesies say how the sun will be darkened; Isaiah 13:10, Joel 2:10 & 3:15, and Amos 8:9 says this will happen at noon.

Zephaniah 2:4-6 also cites noontime for when the Middle East will be devastated by the Lord’s wrath. Hosea 4:3, Isaiah 10:23, Ezekiel 6:14, Joel 1:20

The next time the sun is mentioned, is in Revelation 16:8; the Fourth Trumpet.

Then; when Jesus Returns; the sun will again be darkened. Matthew 24:29, Isaiah 24:23

Finally; after the Millennium, there will no longer be a sun or moon for Eternity. Isaiah 60:19-20, Revelation 22:5

So what we need to do is to figure out the correct sequence of events and how they are caused. This will enable us to stand firm as dramatic things occur and then to stand before Jesus, having proved our faith in Him and our trust in His protection.
Keraz,
That's a good amount references to think on.
I would like to add to it with these verses from Zecharia 14:6-11.
[6] And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:
[7] But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.
[8] And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
[9] And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
[10] All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses.
[11] And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.

Because I am of the Amil. understanding, towards Zech. 14, I say what the Lord said about prophecy fulfilled, with an [update]:
Luke.4[21] And he began to say unto them, This day [since Pentecost] is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

Now, in regards to the Lord's visible, physical return from Heaven, in flaming (all consuming) fire, I am sure that will be His Eternal fire, whereby nothing in and of this earth shall remain. 2 Peter 3:10:13.

Those verses are not the second coming. That's the day of the New Heaven and new Earth which is a long time away from the second coming.

Here is another perspective as to the Lord's Glorious return, by using an analogy.
If you have about you a candle, do take it and light it. In the darkness it is a bright flame, but when you briefly hold it up to the sun, and then look at the flame of the candle, with the orb of the sun in the background, the flame and light of the candle is no longer visible.
When Jesus visibly returns from Heaven, His presence of His flaming fire will eclipse the light of the moon, the sun, and the stars, as if they weren't there.
When Jesus transfigured Himself in the presence of a few disciples, they reported that they had never seen such brightness of light. Mark 9:2-3,
2 Thessalonians 1:7-10.

It's all about HOW the King reigns now, and for who.

You will understand my position better, when you know what it was that caused the Jews to "miss the day of their visitation". Luke 19:44.

Please review Luke 19:29-44.
What did Jesus' disciples see in the Messiah (vs 38), as opposed to the "religious leaders" (the Pharisees), and what they WANTED to see in a Messiah (vs 39)?
Ans. The disciples saw Zechariah 9:9 being fulfilled.
The "religious leaders" did not.

What is the difference of the two hopes between the disciples and the Pharisees, for Jesus as "King"?
1. The disciples saw Jesus as "the King that comes in the Name of the Lord". They had the true hope for "peace in Heaven" with God.
2. The Pharisees wanted God to send a Ruler king to deliver them from the Romans, and therefore they saw nothing in Jesus. They had a false hope for peace on earth.

Did the false expectations the Pharisees had about the Messiah match the expectations of Amillennialists?

The Pharisees expected the Messiah to rule right away but he didn't. His rule would come far into the future. Amillennialists make the same error the Pharisees did by wanting the rule to be happening now but the truth is the rule comes in the future. That's Premillennialism.

No, he is not ruling through us yet. This is when that happens:

Rev 2:25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.

That is the second coming. Everything we read of next comes after the second coming:

Rev 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:

After "the end" comes, there is given power over the nations to those that are overcomers which naturally includes those who "are alive and remain" at the second coming. They will be given power over the mortal unsaved nations after Christ has returned not before it.

Compare that wording to these:

Mat_10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
Mat_24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Mar_13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

These are survivors of the Great Tribulation. Same here:

Mar 13:9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.
Mar 13:10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
Mar 13:11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
Mar 13:12 Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.
Mar 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Rev 2:27 And he shall rule (FUTURE tense verb) them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.

After the second coming and after "the end" will the overcomers be given power over the nations, ruling them with a rod of iron. That proves the rod of iron rule over the nations for a thousand years does not even start until Christ has returned and has given overcomers this power to rule over the nations.

If you can relate to a father's heart towards his lost child, then you should be able to feel the depth of longsuffering in God our Creator, and His father's heart for us. 2 Peter 1-9
[8] But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day IS with the Lord AS a thousand years, and a thousand years AS one day.
[9] The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Those words are describing the Age of God's Grace. If you read the words correctly, you will understand that God Himself puts NO time limit on it. There is no literal period of exactness for 1000 years. It's just a metaphor describing an opened ended period of a very long length of an undisclosed amount of time.
Please reference Genesis 18:23-33 and see God's reasoning on this.

Even to this day, Jesus Himself has no idea of when He will be told to return for us.
Matt.24[36] But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Luke.18[8] I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
> That is a rhetorical question, hinting at a clue!

Therefore, God's Age of Grace shall come to an end, but it will be accomplished by the will of men, through the lack of faith to believe that God exists.
Heb.11[6] But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

> So, what will be the CAUSE* for men to "fall away" from faith, thereby informing God the Father that His Age of Grace is done?
*Ans. The mark of the beast. That will definitely separate the goats from the sheep.
"You will own nothing, and be happy"- The World Economic Forum. See also Klaus Schwab, co-author of "COVID-19: The Great Reset."
KJV-2Thes.2[3] Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed,**

Broken to shivers, aka pieces, splinters, splintered.
Luke 12
[51] Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:
[52] For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

Is there anyone of us here that AGREE with each other for unity in Christ on earth?
Nope, not a one, though many have tried and still do.

From the middle of our homes, to the outward world, all are in disarray.
"I am come....to give....division."
All are "broken to shivers".
Why?
The chief corner "stone" has appeared, and was identified.
1 Cor. 3[11] For other foundation
can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

His next appearance will be
Matt.21[44] And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Have you fallen on Him who is that "stone", and have become altogether "broken" in your "natural man", thereby have received Christ, wherein you have died spiritually, so that He may live His Life in and through you?
Rom.12[1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
[2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Edit: we are NOT to conform to this world, in that which appears as evil, as well that which appears to be good, but rather to be conformed to the image of Christ.
Rom.8[29] For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Phil.3[10] That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
