However since these crusty areas and one nickel sized area was smooth but raised up....and near the brain, I decided to have it checked. That way if it was something serious, I would have known but would have probably refused major treatment.

I've seen numerous people who also believed the Lord for healing (some not being sick for many years) but finally someone talked them in to going to the doctor and cancer was found and they died because they just couldn't escape the curse pronounced over them by the doctor "You have terminal cancer"

One reason why there are miracles are easier to see in remote places of the world is because there is no option to go the doctor so they have no choice but to believe the promises of the Lord because there is no Plan B option of having access to the wisdom of man (medical science).

My elderly uncle in Arizona never went to the doctors.

When he came out of Viet Nam on a stretcher due to bleeding ulcers, they wanted to remove half of his stomach. So he checked himself out of the VA hospital. His mom, my grandma, was a great believer in God being able to heal. Uncle Leo's stomach did recover, thank God.

So Uncle Leo just passed away about two years ago at about 81. He had cancer all throughout his body which doctors discovered after uncle Leo had a slight stroke end of November. He died peacefully four months later....no pain...in his sleep.

One of his nieces in Arizona took him in for those last four months. He was eating well and enjoying her kids and their dog. He was very happy when I would phone him. He did believe in the Lord. He even went to church a couple of times with his niece.

If you can see pretty good without them I can understand you not using them.

But I sure wouldn't go to that optician again. Sounds like someone doesn't know what they are doing. I hope they didn't cost much.

I need cataract surgery in maybe two years if I'm still here. I'm 75.
Chances of making it to 90+ if you make past your young 20's is really high these days. If you dont have any serious medical issues...its a given.

There is so much medical advice out there it becomes a type of scare tactic...watch out for this or that....try this medicine for relief....yadda yada yada. My dad is 87....but because he had a career in electronics and didn't expose himself to a lot of chemicals, kept regular physical activity even if it was just a gym (he always hated lawn care or landscaping) and kept a fairly active social life....he looks and acts like someone barely in his 70's. He is heading out on a vacation on Monday....I wish I could go with because of the places he is going. (I got too much going on around here to go.)

The other guys in our men's group are jealous of him....he doesn't take medicine much at all...just an inhaler for Asbestos exposure from when he was in the air force. Other than that, healthy as a horse. They all have had several ongoing issues. Like me...i got several but i keep going anyway. Because stopping is a sure fire way to die quick from it all.

Length of life is not nearly as important as quality.....depth of relationships is more important than width.
Get busy living or quit and die....sorry but i enjoy living way too much. And Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are coming....some of the funnest stuff is coming.
Maybe if I'm lucky I can sneak off for a day up to the apple orchards around Chattanooga.....so I can make some pies.

So Uncle Leo just passed away about two years ago at about 81

He was a strong man... and went out on his own terms based on believing the Lord to take care of him.
That's what I enjoy hearing about from the old folks that trusted the Lord.

Psalm 90:10 in the King James Version states that "The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years." This verse reflects the general lifespan of humans, suggesting that most people live around 70 years, or up to 80 if they are strong

Yeah, those that celebrate the dark arts will be observing the pagan events of halloween and christmas... but few of them if any will be celebrating Thanksgiving which is the only one of the three the Lord accepts.

Due to the law of liberty....
They are what you make them out to be. No one who enters our home thinks that we give quarter to Satan in any fashion.

I always thought Chattanooga would be a nice city. Do you live there and is it nice?

Noooo.....nowhere near. It's at least a 4-6 hour drive... but it is a pretty city with lots of tourist stuff to do. Rock City botanical gardens, the Aquarium, Ruby Caves, lookout mountain, civil war sites, theaters, paddle boats with dinner shows....the Ocoee River (Olympic Park) and then further East is where I'm headed with the apple orchards. (Appalachian mountains) lots of stuff in and around Chattanooga....more than I've listed.

It is a nice place to go in the fall with all the leaves changing colors. Getting apples from the orchards. There's a few vineyards as well...so there's wineries and raisins. As well as local honey from around various orchards and groves. (Sourwood is my favorite)

It's not like Atlantic City or Florida or someplace like those. It's cleaner, less crowded, and usually cooler weather like Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. Just need to have a plan of what you want to see and be willing to drive a bit.

Yeah some folks think they can smoke crack too and still be saved.

Engaging in pagan rituals is an open door for devils and those not understanding this will be clueless on how the devil got in and why bad things keep coming at them.

What you are describing is gnosticism. I'm not a fan of gnosticism either. Stop falsely accusing me of things I'm not guilty of. Satan is a false accuser too. You do not want to be like him do you?

Halloween is a contraction for "All Hallowed Eve" which is the day before All Saints Day. Where we give thanks to God for the heroes of the Faith.

Stop falsely accusing me of things I'm not guilty of.

Those participating in pagan rituals such as halloween and christmas is opening the door to evil spirits.

But I get it.... OSAS means one can do whatever they want to do and it's all good up in their hood. waving4.gif

Ummmm.....
I'm NOT a Calvinist or an Arminian....stop with the false accusations please. We do not follow any pagan rituals in my home. Despite your repeated false and insulting and slanderous accusations.

@JohnDB It seems some like Dan go quite overboard about some things. They don't do the Christian faith any favors.

I'm 75 and have always loved Christmas. It's a cheerful time of year and causes many to hear about Jesus through Christmas music, sending Christmas cards, etc.

We go ALL out.
I make over 1k of hand dipped chocolate truffles....usually around a dozen flavors or more.
Then I also make over 1k of cookies too....tollhouse usually is about 60% of them. But also some that are ones my wife and I created. (All given out on pretty plates gift wrapped and etc)

Then there's the gingerbread house party where I make blank gingerbread houses and have kids and parents come over to cover them with frosting and candy. (I make dinner too)
Then there's the Sunday School class party and family party and.....

Lots of fun stuff....home and hearth is associated with Christmas as we tell of the marvelous gift of Christ being one of us and among us.

This year we got a 12 foot tree....first time we have ever gotten one this big. I hope it rocks. Wife is going to have to step up the ornament purchases to cover it. I'll get to lay more track for the train that goes around it. It's gonna be awesome.

Wow is all I can say! Wish I was your neighbor... would love some of the goodies.

When I lived in Pennsylvania as a child and young teen, we would put up a big tree. Once we came to Los Angeles, we got a small live tree the first year. After that bought a couple of two foot artificial trees.

I still put up one little tree by the window on the book stand...the other tree broke. It's cheerful. Mom died last year so I'm alone at 75.

I have several boxes of lovely Christmas decorations but bring very little out now. Have lots of Hallmark and vintage and antique stuff. I gave my neighbor friend the key to my apartment and told her when I die she can take whatever she wants to.

Looks like I was speaking in general terms and then you identified with those that are in need of correction.... that's on you bud.

Yes you did! And it is not appreciated. Denial is not a river in Egypt. You did it..

Just own your faults....it's the first step in a 12 step program.

Yes you did!

You might wanna go back and re-read what I wrote and sharpen your reading comprehension skillz

I did not speak of any one person in particular and instead spoke in general terms.

Maybe you are being convicted by the Holy Spirit about wrong doing in your life and you need to REPENT waving4.gif

When you quote someone you are addressing them and only them unless you quote someone else or include something to signify you are not addressing the quoted person.
You are full of more stuff than a christmas chicken.

Try finding someone who is gullible....I'm not that person and YOU have a LONG track record of this exact behavior. inability to accept or admit guilt or fault. Blame shifting, false accusations, extreme legalism.....
Why does it sound like I'm describing Satan?
