Apparently the "WORD" has no authority, so to speak since it was written by primitive men. Now we rely on many voices saying, this is the way walk ye in it. The "WORD" has been superseded by new Prophets who deliver us exceptionional up to date info from on high.

So, no need now for that archaic ambiguous book which is primitive and outdated. We are sooooo more enlightened these days compared to them. Even our morality is so advanced it's second to none. We are brighter, faster and all round mentally superior to those sheep herders and fishermen of galilee.

After all, according to our intellectuals understanding, we cannot trust past understanding of just about everything that Godly men of former days said.

So, here ye the WORD, what WORD might that be exactly? {sarcasm off}

OK. What is the Authority of the WORD, to you. How do you understand and practice it?
The Word is THE FINAL Authority and is the essence of Authroity. God is authority and He is His Word thus God's Word is the measuring rod and infallible truth and authority of our faith and THE Faith. If any manifestation, doctrine, and or practice does not fall in line with the written revelaed Word of God then it is false and dangerous. For God's Word is the Truth and thus triumphes all other things! The Holy Spirit is th only One who can give correct illumination, revelation, interpretation and inspiration on the Word of God. for the Holy Spirit breathed the scriptures into being through the holy men that wrote them, its the Holy Spirit that tkes the Word and does the work of the Word in the hearts of man to convict them of sin and bring them into an everlasting uinon with Jesus the Word. You can not rightly divide the Word of Truth without the Spirit of Truth who is the Holy Spirit. The seed (Word) needs the water (Spirit) to live and grow.
