Not sure under which category to post this, so i thought i would post it here.

Proverbs 8:29 "When he assigned to the sea it's limits, so that the waters would not transgress his command."

Does this mean rising sea levels isn't real? and it could just all be erosion, could it just be ground eroding away under an island causing it to sink? What are your thoughts on this?

We are to subdue the earth, not abuse it. If the climate is affected by corporate greed and irresponsibility, and the sea level rises, it's not God's fault. But I don't think Proverbs 8:29 has anything to do with rising sea levels. The whole chapter seems to be a conversation between Jesus and the Father, but I have to study it.

If you look into geology (especially tectonic plate theory) you find that the continental plates are quite distinct from the ocean basins. The continents may move around, parts of them may get temporarily submerged (like the Mediterranean Sea, currently), but they don't change into deep ocean.

This is what ensures that the Earth's surface is never completely covered by water. However high the sea rises (and the level changes all the time, with the tides!) there is always dry land somewhere.
