It's easy the first several times you read the Revelation of Jesus Christ to read past 8:1-6 and miss everything there of significance because we've been taught to read silently, and when reading aloud we've been taught without appropriating proper voice.
In verse 3, "another angel," is an antagonistic being, confusing and disrupting the prayers of the saints. This is a junction of war, the seven angels with trumpets ready to sound. Notice the smoke from the incense rose before God from the hand of the angel, (not from the golden censer). This was profane.
Proceeding through the sounding of trumpets none of the Lord's ministers are destroying. They simply blow their trumpets. The destruction is by the hands of the antagonists.
