It's easy the first several times you read the Revelation of Jesus Christ to read past 8:1-6 and miss everything there of significance because we've been taught to read silently, and when reading aloud we've been taught without appropriating proper voice.

In verse 3, "another angel," is an antagonistic being, confusing and disrupting the prayers of the saints. This is a junction of war, the seven angels with trumpets ready to sound. Notice the smoke from the incense rose before God from the hand of the angel, (not from the golden censer). This was profane.

Proceeding through the sounding of trumpets none of the Lord's ministers are destroying. They simply blow their trumpets. The destruction is by the hands of the antagonists.

The Feast of Trumpets occurs on the first day of the Hebrew month of Tishri. It occurs at the appearance of the New Moon when only the slightest crescent is visible. However clouds could obscure the moon, and witnesses were required in ancient days. Watchfulness was a critical ingredient of this feast.

Also, Jericho was encompased by the blowing of trumpets. And on the seventh day it fell.

Hallelujah!
