Arab Spring may turn into Iranian winter: Israel PMApr 17 04:12 PM US/Eastern

The pro-democracy uprisings sweeping through the Arab world are in danger of being manipulated by Iran's Islamic Republic, Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu warned in an interview with AFP.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with AFP at the weekend, the Israeli premier said the unprecedented protests sweeping through the Middle East and North Africa could go one of two ways.

"What we hope to see is the European Spring of 1989," he said, referring to the year which marked a turning point for the wave of revolutions sweeping through the Eastern Bloc which led to the break-up of the Soviet Union two years later. But Tehran, he warned, was trying to cash in on the tide of mass uprising sweeping the region to turn it to its advantage in a bid to repeat the events of 1979 and the Islamic Revolution. "We could find that the Arab Spring turns into an Iranian winter," he warned.

BRICS MAKE MOVE TO SHOVE DOLLAR ASIDE

Yahoo Finance

China and four other leading high-growth economies have taken landmark steps toward lowering the importance of the dollar in international financial transactions — part of a seminal shift in the move towards a multicurrency reserve and trading system.

Mind you, you wouldn't get an idea of anything dramatic from reading the official Chinese press on the conclusion of a summit meeting of the so-called BRICS economies (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) in the southern resort twin of Sanya in southern China last week.

"Leaders call for peace and prosperity" was the front-page headline in the China Daily.

(SNIP)

This is so END TIMES. The leaders bringing in one world-ism, global economy, call for peace and prosperity and Jerusalem is under fire:

Daniel 8:24-25 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

Zechariah 14:1-3 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when He fought in the day of battle.

It is the end of the predominance of the dollar, not quite the end of time.

The danger in this is that some sort of global currency or method of exchange may be introduced by whatever power becomes predominant after our financial debacle. Such a change in currency will of necessity be difficult if not oppressive and dangerous.

The real answer is de-centralization of production and finance, not globalization.

The danger of globalization is that a disaster or political disruption can unhinge the entire global economy. If there were a series of such disasters or political events (an extreme political event is a war), the entire balance can be thrown off. The very nature of human politics and markets dictate that nations and communities (and individuals) should stand on their own as much as possible.

Today NATIONS have an entitlement attitude as well as individuals.
When individuals feel that way, crime becomes rampant.
When nations feel that way, war becomes inevitable.

If globalization leads to a single world government, then the most lawless person on the planet will be its' leader. It will be like one big criminal operation.

And then it will be time for the sherrif to come back to town and straighten things out.
