[1 John 4:14 KJV] "And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son [to be] the Saviour of the world." ********** I think John was speaking of the world as being the then present world that Christ came into during his earthly ministry. Jesus came to save Israel, but also to be a light to the Gentiles ************* [Isaiah 49:6 KJV] "And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth."

[John 10:36 KJV] "Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?"
[John 12:46 KJV] "I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness."
[John 14:19 KJV] "Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also."
[John 16:28 KJV] "I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father."
[John 17:11 KJV] "And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we [are]."
[John 17:12 KJV] "While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled."
[John 17:13 KJV] "And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves."
[John 17:14 KJV] "I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world." ************* all of these verses speak of Jesus speaking of the world as being the world into which he was sent.
