The Beatles lyric runs thusly:
”Let’s all get up and dance to a song
That was a hit before your mother was born
Though she was born a long long time ago
Your mother should know (your mother should)

Well, I thought, alright then. That sounds like a fine idea.
My mother was born in 1933. What song was a hit from before she was born and she should know?
Ah! I know. ”April Showers” (1921)
So, I looked it up, turned it on …
… and for a few minutes turned my living room into a dance floor.
That was for you, mom. It was fun … but I think I’d better go and lie down now.
