* In Chichewa a white person is called a Mzungu. Parents sometimes tell their children that if they don’t behave a Mzungu will come at night and take them away. The looks on the children's faces in the cartoon reminded me of the looks on children's faces when they saw me in their villages in Malawi where white persons had never been before. “The boogeyman is real!” *
