Two jobs ago, one of my coworkers told a story about his friend who owned a ranch up in deer country. Apparently he'd lost a few animals to careless hunters, so when deer season rolled around, he'd spray paint "HORSE" or "COW" or "SHEEP" on all his livestock in Day-Glo orange so that the hunters wouldn't mistake them for deer.
