(herald;64577)
Jesus said, "Not every one that saith, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven.MANY will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? and in Thy name have cast out devils? and in Thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I NEVER KNEW YOU: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity. (lawlessness) Mt 7:21-23"And hereby we do know that we know Him, IF we keep His commandments. He that saith, I KNOW HIM, and keepeth not His commandments is a LIAR, and the Truth is not in him. BUT WHOSO KEEPETH HIS WORD, IN HIM VERILY IS THE LOVE OF GOD PERFECTED: hereby we do know that we are in Him.He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked." 1 John 2:3-6."Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.And ye know that He was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in Him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen Him NOR KNOWN HIM.Little children, let not man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the Devil; for the Devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose was the Son of God manifested, that He might destroy the works of the Devil.Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the Devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother." 1 John 3.The new Creation does not sin. It is when we fall back on the old way of living, that we sin. When we walk in His Spirit, we do not sin.The Apostle Paul told Timothy, "I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with PURE CONSCIENCE..." 2 Tim 1:3.When we serve Him with a pure conscience, we can trust the Holy Spirit to reveal anything to us, that we need to repent of. This is what sanctification is all about.
so do you say to Jesus... "Lord, Lord...."? If so, how do you know that you are not one of those that Jesus will say, "even though you did many good works, away from me you evil doer...?Do you perfectly keep God's commands? If not, and I know for a fact you do not, then why aren't you included in those the Bible calls a liar, and that the truth is not in them? Jesus was perfect... sinless.... you are not, therefore while you must try to walk as He walked, you will do so imperfectly, you will and do sin. "And He that committeth sin, (that has to include you, for you commit sin) is of the Devil; for the Devil sinneth from the beginning." So why aren't you "of the devil"?Are you saying you cannot sin...? That you don't sin at all, ever? 1Jn 1:10 Geneva If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."Rom 3:10 Geneva As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one.Rom 3:23 Geneva For there is no difference; for all have sinned, and are deprived of the glory of God,So, since the Bible proves, without a doubt, that all sin, including you personally, how is it that you abide in and know God since "Whosoever abideth in Him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen Him NOR KNOWN HIM."? Again, since you sin, how can you claim to know or abide in God? Since you sin, is it that you think you sin less, and all these verses and passages do not apply to you, but apply to others? How much is "less" exactly...? 2 sins per day.... 10? 20? Often people do not realize when they sin... a quick passing thought of coveteousness.... lust.... envy... and there you have it... sin.... Too often, people have to low a standard of what sin is, and too high a standard of who man is... they forget the awesome holiness of God... and how even these passing thoughts are alone enough to exempt us from the kingdom of heaven. If we sin even one time, that is enough to separate us from God. And so, since both you and I do in fact continue to sin after we became a Christian, does that mean we lose our salvation every time we sin? That we have to get saved every time we ever commit one sin? And have to get saved over and over again since we will continue to sin throughout our lives? And what if we sin on our deathbeds... and do not have time to repent of it before we die...? Are we then lost forever? If you could please be so kind, if you could, if you have the time, could you answer these questions especially? As far as serving God with a pure conscience, don't you think that people's consciences are fallible, that they err...? Some people can do all sorts of terrible things, rape, murder, steal, etc and they seem to be able to rationalize it in their mind as being justified, that it may be wrong for most people to do these things, but when they did it, it was ok for this or that reason...... in their own minds, they have a pure conscience... and some people do these things while serving God.... they kill, commit adultery because their spouse does not understand them, does not love them, and surely God would understand... He wants us to be happy doesn't He...? They do all sorts of things "in the name of God", and feel very justified in doing them... many in the Islamic world do these things to be sure.... and many people claiming to be Christians have as well.... if their consciences do not bother them, are they at peace with God?thanks for taking the time to read and answer my questions...blessings,Ken
