The Mark of Cain and the Way of Cain are connected. How?

For one, they have to do with REWARD.

You folks believe Cain killed Abel out of spite or jealousy or some 'watered down' reason. No.

Cain killed his brother for REWARD...

"For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."

I do not believe the MARK was a Visible MARK that any man could SEE, and immediately Know...uh oh, that man IS Cain, don't kill him...Moreso It was Gods MARK.

We do not SEE God. We do not SEE what God is "DOING"...we See the Results of what God HAS Done.

Cain had a CURSE upon him.
A hefty Curse.
Men in Cain's day;
1) raised Animals to Eat.
2) raised Crops to Eat.
And Cain's knowledge / ability/ talent WAS in crop raising!

Eating is essential to mankind!
No grocery stores in Cains Day!

Should Cain till and till the ground, every neighbor would See Cains Repeatedly Failed Results. (WHILE others crops flourished)
IMO-
That would be suspect.
Where would Cain get Crop food to Eat?
Steal, barter, work, beg, pick over the neighbors left overs?
A delimma for Cain...a concern for neighbors?

Seems reasonable to me- Cain was a Vagabond- (meaning constantly traveling from place to place)...because...
OF his Curse- his Crops would always Fail- and neighbors Would take Notice, with Suspicion, and maybe take action toward him?

Old Mosaic Law- taught:

[22] And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the LORD your God.

Can't say without more research, IF that Law Applied during Any Portion of Cains Lifetime.

Well I remember God said to Moses anyone who sees him won't live so maybe God put a symbol of himself on cain. If they knew cain belonged to God maybe that's why they would kill him..it probably was also some kind of symbol of protection. I know cain life didn't go very well cause God sent him away with a mediocre life hence for him killing abel for being chosen by God. This also reminds me of the book of Job and satan. Remember satan was walking to and fro like cain. Cain kinda reminds me of satan though when I see the name cain. For years I always got the thought that maybe cain was satan because of that. It seems like God likes to send people to and fro when they rebel against him. Maybe it's to think about what they did long and hard on thier way lol

I will go read Gill's commentary when I can. But I cannot imagine connecting it to Cain's mark.

Something else to consider. No reason to think people needed to be living currently that might have killed Cain at the time he killed his younger brother Abel. Cain lived on. According to some sources to see 7 generations of his offspring. I am not sure as I have never studied this very much. Many people possible to murder him long after he got his mark, but before he died naturally. (Or of his house collapsing on him, as some sources suggest.) Makes no sense for God to wait until the first person found and approached him. Then suddenly put a mark on him. I cannot imagine the mark wore off before he died. The Bible does not say "so that no one would kill him mere days, or even years, after the mark was put upon him." It is unclear whether Abel had children, but his descendants might have wanted to kill him. Maybe a great great grandson of Abel's? God was not so much protecting Cain as insuring that He will have vengeance in his own way. "Vengeance is Mine!" saith the Lord.

Keep at it.

I don't know. Sometimes God gets rid of people and save them for later use. Many reasons why he probably didn't want him dead. And he was protecting him with the mark. I also know it could be a defense if someone knew what cain did to abel they'd probably want him dead..lol shoot I don't know and we are born in sin because eve ate the apple and cursed the ground thereafter...
