I don't use X. And I didn't watch the video.

Let me rephrase to make it a more generic question: Why would any pastor - to make it even more generic, any person - ask a question which he knows before asking is so broad in scope? The pastor / person is casting a wide net.

I have no idea why people do what they do, and no crystal ball.
I do presume however, that like guns, all questions are loaded.
Get to the point brother. It's too early in the morning for Socratic interrogation.

The pastor / person is reading the room. It’s a fact finding mechanism. What is on the mind of his audience. That, specifically, is what he will address.

In other words, meeting people where they are.

Well that's lovely, I wish him much success

I like your attitude.

The pastor, so far as I’m aware, isn’t a registered member of this platform. I’m doing here what he is doing on X. One might think of it as me, unofficially, acting as his agent / representative.

I don’t know him. He didn’t send me. He’s getting a good response on X. I’m looking / hoping for a good response here.

Well Mattias, you may be the first lol.

If I could call what I'm doing here "work", then I suppose I am acting as an agent of Christ. At least, that is my desire. Whether I have been faithful in doing so will most likely not be determined in this lifetime.

I believe that our job/mission/work/duty etc while on this plane, is to walk in the Holy Spirit and follow His leading, and the work of the Holy Spirit is to glorify Christ.
Full stop.

I doubt that, but I’ll take it. :)

What about Jesus’ God and Father?

A quick reading of John 16 and 17 should clear up any questions you might have on the topic.

I’m currently reading John 17 daily for a week in my personal intensive Bible reading plan. What I‘m interested in learning is why you didn’t mention him in your post.

By "Him", I presume you mean the Father.

"Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.
He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you.
All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall show it unto you."

"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."

Yes. I was just curious about why you didn’t mention the Father in post #12. Some Christians believe that Jesus himself is the Father himself. I don’t. Do you?

The Trinity boggled my mind for many years. I can't quote them for you off the top, but I found sufficient scriptures to settle the issue for myself.

I believe in the Trinity. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe these three are One.
I consider it an essential doctrine.
But beyond that statement, I will not debate with anyone or judge anyone who has a more or less complex understanding of the Godhead.

That answered my question. I’ve gained a great deal of insight into what you believe. Thank you.

What other passages of scripture would you put forward as candidates for most misunderstood?

Maybe later brother. You seem to be the sort of brother whom I would like to converse with more on a wide variety of topics, but not in this forum.
Perhaps if you feel the same, this could be arranged.
