9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

What was Paul's mission or calling: to make all men see the fellowship of the mystery, which was hid in God. You know what makes the mystery that has been revealed still a mystery to some? They have not seen it, it is in plain daylight and stands before their eyes and they treat it like it is some mystical thing from a sci-fi movie.

Paul said the mystery is Christ in you and that the mystery has been revealed. Remember Paul never uses the term born again for what ever reason? I believe he saw something far deeper in the mystery of Christ in you. We see how the term born again is used and thrown around and abused by politics and the world. But you will be hard pressed to find someone talking about the mystery. Can you imagine a politician making and speach; "and in closing I would like to thank the mystery of the fellowship for being birthed in me and becoming my only life." "Oh and the plan and purpose of God from the foundation of the world coming into effect the moment I believed, I am now born again."

You know what that would never happen because they do not know it, and if they do they do not talk about. The best test there is according to scripture is; "out of the abundance of the heart a man speaketh." So what you know will come out sooner or later. You can try to keep quite for a moment but it will burn in you like a fire. The Prophet Jeremiah said when he was not going to speak for God anymore "it's like fire shut up in my bones." He had to speak, God didn't have to do anything, his word to was Jeremiah enough.

You can try to shut up but when the things of God hit you you will speak. You may sound as crazy as the prophets of old but it flows like a river and you speak. Paul was one that knew this kind of message and treatment. He spoke by revelation, everything he said came from the glorified risen Christ. If he spoke from out of revelation he said so, "this is me not the Lord" he would say. We don't understand Paul the Apostle to the Gentiles, his many revelations are to us directly. We should shut ourselves away with our father and the scriptures until we get some revelation and understanding of what he wants and is doing in this world.
We are get so confused and don't understand what he is doing we get it backwards sometimes. We think he is there just for us, it is all about me, help me, my bills, my kids, my body, my mind, my my my. It don't work like that, haven't you figured that out yet. Religion makes it all about you, you must retrain your thinking. He does help us but that is not the reason for all things, you are not the reason for all things.

Don't you know there is something He, our father, wants. Did you ever stop in the middle of your mess and think "hey there may be something he wants." Have you ever entertained that thought. The world is not going to stop because you have trouble, the world is a schoolhouse and the sooner we learn the sooner we can move on into the understanding of God. It really is not rocket science as they say, it's very simple as you read the scriptures as their written.

Ephesians 3:4,
4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

Such as the chapter our text came from; when you read Paul said! That you may have the same understanding as Paul. You cannot get any clearer than that. But when you read what or who? When you read Paul. He said when we read him, his letters, his epistles, we will know and understand, is that plain enough. No man can explain it to you, it has to happen to just like it did with the apostle Paul. That is how you will know, revelation is a knowing no man can explain.

I wonder if personal relationship and revelation are two sides of the same coin?

Very thoughtful insights. It seems to be open season on criticizing Paul, but you understand that he was given revelations most of us can only dream about. And yet....the mystery is open to all of us. I need to explore this some more.

Be blessed!

Yes he did. You know in Romans 1 when he talks about "imparting spiritual gifts" he is talking about the revelations he recieved. That is where Paul's letters come from "the revelation of the indwelling Christ." He never preaches an outer Christ, it is always Christ in you. Paul is worth the read, what we pay attention to is the handling of believers based on Christ in them. Never a seperation or law attached to Paul's writing.

Paul said the mystery is Christ in you and that the mystery has been revealed.
If we keep to the context of Ephesians 3:1-6, the mystery is stated in verse 6: That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same Body, and partakers of His promise in Christ by the Gospel:

Which then leads to the additional aspect of the mystery which is stated in Colossians 1:27: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Hebrew Christians had seemingly forgotten that the Gospel of Grace would be to all mankind, the greater number being Gentiles. So both Jews and Gentiles in all the churches needed to know that while this was not evident in the Old Testament (hence a mystery) it was now revealed through Paul. And the two aspects of the mystery were (1) Gentiles would be a part of the Body of Christ, hence fellow-heirs and partakers of all the promises which are given in Christ and (3) that all believers would have Christ dwelling within, which would also guarantee their perfection and glorification ("the hope of glory").

Hi soul man, it's good if we can avoid coming off as crazy, I think! But some of the realities if what God has done for us, it's so wonderful it seems unreal to many! Even to me sometimes!

We think he is there just for us, it is all about me, help me, my bills, my kids, my body, my mind, my my my. It don't work like that, haven't you figured that out yet. Don't you know there is something He, our father, wants.

I think there is something He wants. I think He wants to share Himself with us. I think that God in His goodness created people in order to share His goodness with them. With us.

I think what God wants is a family, Jesus the Firstborn, among many brothers and sisters.

I think it's not all about me, even so, God still cares for me. But I think "what it's all about" is "us". All of us, God and all His people. I think the retraining that is needed is to first of all stop being concerned over myself, knowing God will care for my needs according to His wisdom and purpose. And to receive from our Father His love, to know how deeply and surely loved we are, and to let that love fill us to overflowing, like a river bursting out from our hearts.

I believe God is here with me, personally interested in all that is happening with me, and wanting for me to know Him, and His righteousness, and His love.

And by reading over and over and over Paul's letters, the apostle to the gentiles, my mind grows more and more to think this way. That, and Ecclesiates, to impress upon me the meaninglessness of everything else.

Much love!

@soul man And the wonder of Christ in you in Romans especially is that it is wondrously linked with justification by faith in the work of Christ at the Cross.

I’m sorry, if I may speak;

Christ being in a person is the heart and center of the mystery. The Gentiles being added is a plus but only because they have been invited into the mystery of Christ in them.

Christ in us is even the mystery the Angels long to look into.

Christ in us is everything, it is the greatest and highest gift God could possibly give.

May we all come to know this mystery of Christ in us our Hope of Glory. (Which itself is our salvation.)

Be blessed, Not me
