The Old Testament law is just as valid as the New Testament law.

Jesus said,

Mat 5:17, Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mat 5:18, For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Mat 5:19, Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:20, For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

The Old Testament law is valid as a schoolmaster to lead us to Christ (Galatians 3:24);

And also, if anyone is seeking to redeem themselves through law-keeping, works, or personal merit, it serves as a standard by which they stand condemned for that they do not live up to it perfectly.

Gal 3:10, For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

Jas 2:10, For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

Mat 5:48, Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

And finally, it is the Old Testament that is being referred to in the quotation of a prophecy by Jeremiah; which in the Old Testament could have only been referring to the Old Testament law.

Heb 8:8, For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
Heb 8:9, Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
Heb 8:10, For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Of course, in the New Testament we adhere to the spirit of what is written rather than going by the letter.

Rom 7:6, But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

However, again, this does not mean that we do and teach that any of the least of the commandments in the Old Testament are no longer valid.

For if we do that, we shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven;

But if we do and teach them, we shall be called great.

Christ has fulfilled the Law, the OT Law, and the Righteousness therein has been imputed to His Church. Christ obeyed and fulfilled every jot and tittle of the Law in His Perfect Law Keeping Righteousness. Do you believe this ?

Most definitely I believe this.

Righteousness is imputed to us in justification and imparted to us in sanctification.

Rom 8:4, That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

This verse is not talking about imputed righteousness but it is talking about a practical righteousness that comes about because of a walk in the Spirit.

In this Christ fulfills the righteousness of the law within us in the practical sense.

I do not deny that His shed blood is what the Father sees when He looks down on the born again Christian and that therefore the perfect righteousness of Christ is imputed to the same.

However, there is also a practical righteousness for the Christian (1 John 3:7, Romans 5:19, Matthew 5:6), given to him as a free gift (Romans 5:17).

Yes its speaking of Imputed Righteousness and Practical Righteousness, Christs practical Righteousness which He obeyed all of Gods Law for His People, and it was imputed to them, and when given Faith to believe it, we walk according to the Spirit of Faith believing.

In this Christ fulfills the righteousness of the law within us in the practical sense.

Christ is the believers righteousness period Jer 33 16

In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The Lord our righteousness. Christs practical righteusness is imputed to His People. You want His or yours ?

I do not deny that His shed blood is what the Father sees when He looks down on the born again Christian and that therefore the perfect righteousness of Christ is imputed to the same.

He sees Christs perfect law keeping obedience righteousness and His Blood that washed His People from their sins. See man owed a double debt, a debt of perfect obedience to Gods Holy Law, and a debt of punishment for disobedience/death, Christ has satisfied the entire bill of debt for the Elect.

However, there is also a practical righteousness for the Christian (1 John 3:7, Romans 5:19, Matthew 5:6), given to him as a free gift (Romans 5:17).

To walk by Faith ! Be careful or you will be trusting in your own righteousness.

Christ's righteousness is not only positional (imputed), it is practical (imparted).

1Jo 3:7, Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

Rom 5:19, For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Mat 5:6, Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
