The Bible is a tool that can help us find God, but the purpose isn't to obey the Bible - the purpose is to find God.

The most important purpose is to show you that you are a Lost Sinner , headed for Hell like a speeding bullet that MUST have a Savior......

I would recommend you never ignore the passages that quote God or Jesus.

Ignore Paul at your own expense .....he was God’s “ Chosen Vessel” to reveal the Secrets Of God that has been hidden for Millenia .....are you a Gentile? If so, Paul is who we go to for Christian Doctrine this side of the Cross...

I hope you don't lose sight of the purpose of the Bible.
I hope you dont lose site of the truth in said bible .
Too many are falling in love with speeches of men that make them feel good
As for me , I STICK and am sticking with GOD , WHO DID INSPIRE that bible .

Well, the purpose of the Bible is to help us to get to know the Lord better, so I'd say we should stay planted in the Lord, once we get there.
I was once told that the Bible was the Creator's handbook for life. It guides, it teaches, it inspires it encourages and it leads us into the light.

Nobody gets saved by “ Commandment Keeping”...... those 613 commandments were given to show that you don’t and can’t keep them ....( “ By The Works Of The Law, NO MAN shall be Justified”) .....Salvation is 100% Grace, freely given to this that believe and rest in Paul’s Gospel ( given to Him by Jesus personally) .....the song has it right—- “ NOTHING but the Blood”...... you had better believe it.....
You are lumping all the ordinances, statutes, decrees, laws, testimonies, and commandments into one bundle and calling them all commandments. I don't think that is helpful. Sin brings misery into our lives. The commandments tell us what sin is so we can avoid it.

You bring up a good point about church leaders who would rather be popular by telling people what they want to hear, rather than telling them what they need to hear. There is a lot of that in the world. Still, the purpose of the Bible is to help us find God, I believe. How many people know the Bible inside and out, but still haven't found God?

Here is the point I am trying to make:

[39] You search the scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness to me;
[40] yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life. John 5:39-40 RSV

But the Bible isn't the boss. God is the boss.
And God gave us the Bible. You ask the purpose. But you discount the parts you've chosen to discount.

Isaiah 55:10-11 KJV
10) For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11) So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Was this the words originating from the prophet? Or from the Holy Spirit?

Much love!

Well, the Bible exists, and I believe it is an accurate account of the events it witnesses to. It doesn't replace God, though.

A wise man indeed tries to avoid the sins that the Bible points out.....it becomes a problem when people don’t get the Big Picture......Because we all inherited a Sinful Nature from Adam, it is impossible to avoid all sins all of the time......The Bible makes clear that a man that breaks “ One” Commandment has broken them all....one had better get a Savior.....better believe 1Cor15:1-4.......

.....duh.....

Paul wrote NOTHING that the Holy Spirit did not inspire him to say.....After His Ascension, Jesus used Paul as His “Secretary” to explain our “ new and better Covenant” because God found fault with the Old One.....If Paul said it, God said it.....Even Peter, Who Found Paul “ hard to understand” declared that everything Paul wrote was as valid as any other Scripture....

Whether we inherited a sinful nature or not, sin destroys our lives and it is in our best interests not to commit sin.

I disagree with your statment that "Paul wrote NOTHING that the Holy Spirit did not inspire him to say."

Eternal life comes only through a relationship with Jesus - the Son of God, the Christ.
