No, it was a loose knit group of brothers. One claimed he prophesied that the stock market would close at a certain number on a certain day, and according to him it did. This was before I met him. The problem with all these groups is that they are trying to affect the world DIRECTLY. They seek to DO something that looks like it may resemble something the bible agrees with.
But the truth is deeper than looks.
First comes the inner transformation ...THEN comes the gathering together to manifest the life that is being lived internally.
Jesus said first to tarry until they received power from heaven.
The new testament is about a divine life within and a power to proclaim the truth. I do believe in community...but it must be community IN the Spirit...not an outward lifestyle.

When the Lord says we are to give all for Him, it doesn't necessarily mean we go out and sell and/or give all our stuff away, it means we are to hold nothing back for His glory, that all we do and have are His in the first place. There is nothing that would stand between us and Him, otherwise it would be idolatry.
Satan tries to replicate everything in the Kingdom of God, it's good that you had God's Word in you so that you would be able to tell the difference.

Sin is the corruption of good. it is vanity to think that throwing out good things because they can be miss used is going make you pure. it is also idolatrous on some level because it shifts the blame from yourself to the object. Food only makes you fat if you consume too many calories. Now, it is true that our society loves to profit off of sin so the deck gets stacked - MORE is what we are tempted with everyday, but we are still guilty for misusing creation. Mysticism can be missed used just like every other behavior.
