So this is not meant to be divisive, but is based entirely on an extrapolation of scripture: "when you did it to the least of these, you did it to me" (verse from memory, the Gospels). This verse is saying that when Christ has ruled, He will establish that He has done it in power - not by getting attention, but by giving it. The connection that I am making, is that if Christ's rule is with those that need His rule, then His second coming will be with those who suffer for the change His second coming will bring about. I'm talking about paraplegics and quadriplegics, people with diseases and mental health issues.
These people - paraplegics and quadriplegics, people with diseases and mental health issues - see the change of the second coming of Christ, the way Christ sees it (within Himself). People who say "no one we knew, knew anything about the second coming" are basically told "when you ignored the people who suffered with Me, you ignored the second coming - My second coming!"
There is a reason for this! The second coming is not just a personal wielding of power! The second coming is about the renewed Glory of God and the presence of the power of the Holy Spirit bonding not just Man to Man, but Man to Jesus. Men will break out with praising, children will take up the trumpet! Man's relationship to God, will be what he reckons it must be. This is tremendous because the mouth of the fool will be stopped; the dying will be greatly comforted. These things are evident to those that struggle in the spirit already - people with mental health issues, for example, know what it is to keep from sounding like a fool; para or quadriplegics, for example, know what it is like to struggle with dead limbs clinging to you. If you are ignoring people with different struggles, you are ignoring Christ, but not only that, also the struggle that He comes to respond to.
So there will be different people who see this, some will say "I have or know someone who has a personal struggle in life" and they will see that Christ at His second coming will address the struggle in these people's lives; others will say "Christ is a person, when He returns then we will do something about the struggle in His life" and they will be closed in their mind and sent by Christ to dwell in the lowest parts of Hell. It is about desiring His Will! Either you say the struggle in life is meaningful or you do not, but you do not rob those with struggle of their place before Christ!
