While wanting something to be true doesn't necessarily make it true, there is abundant evidence showing the veracity of the self fulfilling prophecy, case in point: the placebo.
Big Pharma is notorious for their deceptive practices when it comes to bringing medications onto the market so it should come as no surprise that they would be caught skewing the numbers during FDA testing, but even their own numbers can show placebos being effective at levels as high as 20%. Radiation and chemotherapies can't compete with that!
Placebos can be bought over the counter, and have no side effects other than the possibility of letting your own mind and body heal itself. Surprisingly, this is even when one knows that they are taking a placebo!!!
While they're considerably less expensive than most prescription medications, they're not free either,so just grab an old prescription container, toss in some dried peas, a cotton ball, type up a prescription, and tell Big Pharma to pound sand.
