How do you get that from what Luther7 wrote? He mentioned the sacrifice of the Saviour for His people, but not animal sacrifices.
He responded to my comment :-
"""Always good to read someone who understands that not all of the Bible applies to us today."""
Keep up with the flow David :gd

I know that he was replying to those words from you. What I don't understand is how you can get from his words any idea that he believes that animal sacrifices are required to have our sins forgiven. Perhaps he will reply himself. I will leave it to him to say whether or not he believes in animal sacrifices.

I responded to another poster :-
Always good to read someone who understands that not all of the Bible applies to us today
He responded with :-
""""Well thankfully there aren't too many of you"""
So based on my NOT ALL THE BIBLE applies ...
I then reacted with :-
"""So you believe that NT ANIMAL SACRIFICES are a requirement today to have sins forgiven ?""
My error was the use of NT instead of OT
..
Animal sacrifices are part of the Bible yet not all of the Bible is applicable today.
All good now ? :gd

Yes of course animal sacrifices are part ofg the Bible. However, the Bible clearly states that animal sacrifices can never actually take away sin:

NKJV Heb 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.

Later in the same chapter we are told how Jesus Christ is the one perfect and complete sacrifice:

Heb 10:10 By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Heb 10:11 And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.
Heb 10:12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God,

The Old Testament animal sacrifice were but types or shadows, pointing to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Notice the difference, though. Ephesians and Colossians both tell us to forgive others because God has forgiven us. In Jesus' instruction, taught to Israel being under the Law, they were to forgive so that God would forgive them.

Under the Law, acceptance was based on the person's obedience. In Christ, acceptance is based on His obedience.

Much love!
This is purely anecdotal, but I would suggest that it's the perfect example of how Christs words apply to us today. Full disclosure; I consider the idea that the Sermon on the Mount was only for the Jews to be complete nonsense.

I did not have a good relationship with my mother. She died in October of 89' at the age of 41. I had a tremendous amount of resentment towards her when she passed and I did not mourn her death. I did however give a great deal of thought to the circumstances and my reaction, or lack there of.

I decided at that time to forgive my mother, something I wish I had done while she was still among the living. It was only two months later that I found myself upon my knees crying out to God for my own forgiveness. He answered that prayer, and I was washed in His blood and regenerated.

Perhaps it was just a coincedence, but I have known in my heart since that very hour that forgving my mother opened the door to my own forgiveness. I have no desire to argue the point with anyone who disagrees, believe as you will.

I appreciate your sharing this!

Having been a Christian for a number of years, I was never able to forgive my mother, the abuses of childhood were lengthy and severe. She remained cold and uncaring, and I remained angry and resentful. After she died, I had a short, between waking and sleep, image in my mind of her, looking young and beautiful, wearing a white robe, she turned to look at me, "Mark! It's so wonderful!!" I'd long known she was a Christian, for all her flaws, and the truth was that she was in heaven with Jesus, and all was well with her. Everything inside me that was against her melted away in that moment.

Anecdotal, like you say, related to nothing, but your testimnory reminds me.

Much love!

His mercy endureth forever.

We have such a limited perspective here in our earthly habitation. But God sees the heart, and He knows those who are His.
We have no idea what our parents went through to make them into the people we remember, or anyone else for that matter. Our loving Heavenly Father has no such limitations.
I'm glad you found peace about your mom.

Much love and much peace to you as well.

Are animal sacrifices part of the sin forgive process today ? eg, do you need to do it ?

That's the point David, not everything in the Bible applies today :)
The Old Testament teachings about things which were fulfilled in Christ (animal sacrifices, tabernacle scapegoat, cities of refuge) should not be ignored by Christians, because although they were fulfilled in Christ, they are helpful in picturing for us aspects of our Saviour. What I mean is that I hope that when you say that not everything in the Bible applies today, you didn't mean that we can ignore any of it.

The sermon on the mount pertains to Israel.
False!

Romans 1:
16. For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of GOD unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jews first, and also to the Greek
(Gentiles).

From the sermon on the mount and forth the teaching of Christ, are part and parcel of the Gospel foundation and new covenant.

Where all born from above, born of water and of Spirit new creature/creation are discipled with henceforth, to the Jews first, and also to the Gentiles.

Therefore it pertains to Christ the author and finisher of our faith, who discipled first the chosen 12 and the remnant of Israel saved by grace three and a half years.

And before His ascension, He commissioned the 12 whom He have discipled, to likewsie make disciples of all nations by the same foundation.

Matthew 24:
14. And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Let's look at the sermon on the mount and see if it was given to you
Yes is given to me a Gentile who's born again as well, and having them 'at hand' KJV version
The sermon on the mount pertained to Israel. You aren't Israel.
Are you Israel?

It pertains not to Israel when majority are in disbelieve and only a remnant saved by grace received it.

You're right we're not Israel, because we born again belong to Christ and are Christian from a far away country.

Stop, you're making a mockery of yourself!

That's your 'twisted' and 'divided' version of another gospel and spirit.

No, thank you!

Obviously your credentials exceed those of doctrine.org
Please list your qualifications :gd
I had never heard of doctrine.org before, so I went to the site, but I couldn't see any information about who runs the site, or what their beliefs are. However, if you say that they teach that there are two gospels, and that Paul preached a different gospel to the one Jesus preached, I think caution should be exercised when viewing that site.

Don Samdahl maintains doctrine.org and writes on Biblical subjects to encourage believers, reveal the knowledge of Christ, the hope of His calling, and the riches of His glory.

Most articles focus upon and emphasize doctrines revealed by Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles (Romans 11.13). Through this apostle, the risen, glorified Lord revealed the gospel of the grace of God (Acts 20.24; 1 Corinthians 15.1-4), salvation by faith alone (Romans 3.24, 26, 4.4-5), and many other doctrines concerning the Church, the body of Christ. Before Paul, God kept these truths secret (μυστήριον). All Scripture is for us but not all Scripture is to us. What is written to us, to the Church, the body of Christ, is from the pen of Paul.

Don Samdahl earned a Th.M. degree from Dallas Theological Seminary, majoring in Semitics and Old Testament Studies.

Thanks for the information. I don't agree that Gentile Christians should regard the Epistles other than those penned by Paul as not applying to them. These verses from the beginning of Peter's first epistle do not apply onlyu to ethnically-Jewish Christians:

NKJV 1Pe 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
1Pe 1:4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,
1Pe 1:5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
1Pe 1:6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,
1Pe 1:7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
1Pe 1:8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,

Anyway, thanks again for providing the information.
