Referring to the devotions that I have started in the devotions forum (http://www.christian...grims-progress/) our friend Christian is currently stuck in a terrible bog called the Slough of Despond. This terrible mire is brought on by what John Wesley called 'sour godliness.'
“Sour godliness is the devil’s religion. It does not owe its inception to truly spiritual people. I suspect that sour godliness originated among unhappy, semi-religious people who had just enough religion to make them miserable, but not enough to do them any good.” - John Wesley
Referring to Plato's Republic... There are three children of "The Good," or, God the Father...
Material form - M = E / C2 is in the form of plasma as when one beholds the sun. And in Plato's mind was the chief source of 'The Good.'
Mental form - M = E / C2 in the form of energy and electricity as the mind does its thinking.
Spiritual form - M = E / C2 in the form of energy (spiritual motivation and warmth) and C2 (Faith, hope, charity, and joy).
The slough of despond is made all the more miry by those religious professors who have got the first two children of the good... But are woefully inadequate in the third.
