The Truth, The Whole Truth about Creation

2Pe 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
New testament scripture in Greek. The word [thousand] translated:
chilioi
khil'-ee-oy
Plural of uncertain affinity; a thousand: - thousand.

Looking at Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a uncertain amount of time, and a uncertain amount of time as one day.

Genesis 1
Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Gen 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Gen 1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
Gen 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

In the first day, unknown length, God [created]:
בּרא
bârâ'
baw-raw'
A primitive root; (absolutely) to create;

Gen 1:6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
Gen 1:7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
Gen 1:8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
Second day. Unknown length of time.

Gen 1:9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
Gen 1:10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
Gen 1:12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
Third day. Unknown length of time.

Gen 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
Gen 1:15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
Gen 1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
Gen 1:17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
Gen 1:18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
Fourth day, Unknown length of time.

Gen 1:20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
Gen 1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
Gen 1:23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
Fifth day, God created sea creatures and winged fowl. Unknown length of time.

Gen 1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
Gen 1:25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Gen 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Gen 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
Gen 1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
Gen 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Sixth day, God created every creature that walked upon the earth, including man. Male and female he created them and then he sent them out to populate the earth. Unknown length of time.

We should see from this that God created ‘all things’ in heaven and earth and also that man walked and populated the earth in the sixth day for an unknown length of time.

Today, we are able to date the length of time that a fossil has been around. It is an God given ability and does not contradict the bible. For the bible does not give the length of time of creation.
We also know that it was not evolution.

Let's look a little deeper in creation:
Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
In Hebrew, אלהים
'ĕlôhı̂ym
el-o-heem' gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative: - angels, X exceeding, God (gods) (-dess, -ly), X (very) great, judges, X mighty.
In other words, eloheem, in this case, means God and his angles.

In
Gen 1:26 God said let us, God and his angles, make man in our image.

Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
So the God and his angles created man, male and female were created.

Gen 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
They, male and female, were sent out to replenish the earth.

Now let us look at Gen 2:7
Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
In Hebrew, LORD is Jehovah the Almighty God
יהוה
yehôvâh
yeh-ho-vaw'
From H1961; (the) self Existent or eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God: - Jehovah, the Lord.

Now let us read
Gen 2:7
The LORD, Jehovah, formed (shaped) a man (Adam) and breathed into his nostrils and Adam became a living soul.
This is similar to what Jesus does when we are born again of the water and the Spirit.
Jehovah God gave a different life to Adam, he made him a living soul.

1Co 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

Man, many of them, were created by God and his angles in Gen 1.
Adam, one man, was formed in Gen 2 by Jehovah.
It is with Adam that Jehovah made a covenant.

We will be adding more to this.

Wheat did not exist in this world until two grasses naturally hybrid themselves.

The bacteria in our guts have changed many times over the course of the span of humanity.

Melanin is an evolutionary adaptation in humans to take advantage of the geographical location of humans. With more melanin being created when near the equator and less when closer to the poles.

Evolution is not anti-God. Rather it is evidence of God. Wheat came into existence to facilitate civilisation.

Gut bacteria changed to assist with a diet that needed to change due to the introduction of new foods to increase viability of survival.

Melanin adjusts over time to take in more sunlight and create vitamin D while more protects against the harmful effects in harsher conditions.

God has placed systems that will automatically adjust and change things to suit his grand design.
Instead of denying or hating his genius we should thank him for it and praise that he lent this talent for intellect to us. Look at all we modified as well.

There is a purpose and reason for every thing in the cosmos. Praise God that systems are in place to help us without any further effort.

The OP doesn't appear to agree that God knew/knows what a day is, even when clearly indicated a day and evening.
God created the world in 6 days as we know and experience them toDAY!

And reconfirmed in Exodus. With this logic we can assume whenever the translation day is used we can assume it was a long period of time. Makes no logic. Every word must be held, used, and translated in the proper context. The same is true for English today.

If we set the terms as "Prove evolution/billions of years and you'll disprove Christianity", we will lose.....big time.

'many, many of them was created by God and His angels'
What are you saying here? Your ability to add or subtract from Gods word so easily disturbs me. We must understand in full and complete context. In 2nd Peter the bases is that Gods timing is not our timing. That is it. Nothing to do with the confirmed seven 24 hour creation period, thus why there was a Sabbath. Exodus 20:11 confirms this. As does the fact the earth was made for man Isa 45:12,18 and Ge 1:28. thus it would make no logic to have the world set idol for billions of years. Also, with Adam, the care taker of the world, came death, to man kind and the world. Not before, thus God sacrificing the first animal to temporarely cover Adam and Eves sin. If you truly check facts out you will clearly see the billions of year slowly formed from fish and monkey thing is a complete joke. Also dating is only guess work and is not, i repeat, is not considered reliable at all. To any measure, only that of which items can be compared to known dateable items can we have more faith. There was a big joke when a rock from mt st Helens was dated 10 billion years old less than a year after the eruption.

*groan* <_<

Do yourself a favor....get your science from actual scientists and stop tying Christianity to anti-science nonsense.

You said you would be adding more to this. I think I found your text.

Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunter/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.

The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel.

Beer required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed.

The wheel was invented to get man to the beer.

These two were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups: 1. Liberals. 2. Conservatives.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to BBQ at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement.

Other men who were less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly BBQ's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement.

Some of these liberal men evolved into women. Others became known as girlie-men. Some noteworthy Liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that Conservatives provided.

Over the years Conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jackass for obvious reasons.

Modern Liberals like lite beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard Liberal fare. Another interesting evolutionary side note: many Liberal women have higher testosterone levels than their men.

Most college professors, social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, film makers in Hollywood, group therapists and community organizers are Liberals. Liberals meddled in our national pastime and invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink real beer. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, engineers, corporate executives, athletes, members of the military, airline pilots, and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the Liberals remained in Europe when Conservatives were coming to America. They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing.

Here ends today's lesson in world history. It should be noted that a Liberal may have a momentary urge to angrily respond to this post.

A Conservative will simply laugh and be so convinced of the absolute truth of this history.

How old was Adam when God formed him from the earth? What came first, the chicken ot the egg. Genesis is about creation, NOT evolution. Creation is instantaneous. Thus a man looks 18 but is only one day old. To some the universe looks billions of years old but is only thousands of years old. God created a fully mature universe and earth with all life. I personally believe God's inspired word and not science when it contradicts it. Who knows creation better than the Creator?
Zeke,
the issue is NOT about politics, it about believing the Bible or science.

Why? Why be unnecessarily deceptive?

Turns out you're kinda right, but not in the way you think. I'm going to start a thread on this in the General Forum.

Why? Why be unnecessarily deceptive?
Who says God has to worry or concern Himself with His motivation? Lack of faith is what causes people to distrust God. His motives should NEVER be called into question. I have NO problem whatsoever about why God does what He does. The answers are always in His Word.

So you have absolutely no problem believing God went out of His way to make the universe look billions of years old, even thought it's really not?

That's your take River, not mine. My take is NOBODY is as great and powerful as God, and to believe ANY science that contradicts His word, is to lack faith in His extreme supremacy. God owes NO person an explanation of how and why He created, other than what He provides in His Word. Faith is our evidence, remember?
Who is more intelligent, man's science, or God?

I don't see anything that looks billions of years old. Please, point out one thing that you think is representative of your perspective. I'm being serious this time.

Really? You have absolutely no idea why scientists (including many Christians) have concluded that the universe is billions of years old? None at all?

Zeke,

If the sky is clear go out tonight and look into the sky. Look at the stars.

And say to yourself these are all ghosts of suns, long dead before their light came to your eyes.

Then say God you're awesome to allow us to look into the distant past and allow us life so we may see the new heaven and the new earth.
