Hi all!

I was just meditating on the things we have been speaking of and thought that this would be a good subject to bring up.

I was hoping to talk about the work of the cross. Interestingly, I find that most doctrine that is taught nowadays basically centers the work of the cross on what Christ did at the cross.

I would like to focus on the other part; the work of the cross in us, that we might put to death the old man and live by the Spirit. What is it about? Paul says 'It is not longer I who lives, but Christ lives in me'. The cross is there so take us, our old man that is, out of the way of the work of Christ in our lives, so that we can actually be like Him.

I just think it's something that is so neglected, yet so important.

Honestly, my first reaction to your question is "I don't know!"

God does it in many ways. We must deny ourselves and take up our cross daily. To me that means to betray my flesh. My flesh desires all these things, but I cannot identify with it. It means also to go to God with the good and the bad (thus betraying the bad).

But I do not know how it all unfolds in the end. God is the author and finisher of our faith, and I don't know how he works it all out.

I just hope the Lord will give me lots of patience, love, and understanding, and will teach me even when my blindness is strong and I don't understand, that he would break my strong will and put me through the hard lessons when I need it... Because I will need it.

OH, PRENTIS! NEVER pray for "patience"! :D

You're hilarious. Only I think that's one aspect of bearing your cross :)

Going through with those things you hate to do, but you know are for you're good in the Lord!

And then you grow! :)
