There is three main issues in life believers will have to deal with, the world, the flesh and, the devil. Those are the three main things that will buffet you all the days of your life. Just about the time you get your life straightened out and things are going your way, one if not all these things jump up and bite you. Those that try keeping some form of law have the hardest time, their fall is usually the greatest.
We see it in our preachers that have stumbled because media outlets make sure everyone knows about. But the fact is it happens to common people as well as those in ministry. Law keeping is imposible for believers to do. If Israel couldn't do it what pray tell makes you think you can. But there is something in man that wants to do something to make them feel better about their guilt and shame, and nothing works better than trying to keep the law. It's easier than living Christ. Living Christ (Paul said if I live it's Christ) takes a consecrated life to allow (yielded to the HolySpirit) the HolySpirit to teach you Christ. To reveal the indwelling Christ in a believer to them, Gal. 1:11-12, 15-16. Law keeping gives believers an out in their mind, "if I sin I repent" so around and around the mountain you go. No growth just childs play and the world, the flesh, and the devil run ramshod over a believer that has Christ in them.
We have come to a time in Christianity where we treat the scriptures as if there is no message. So we walk as there is no message, every man for himself. What I think, what I believe, and if it don't line up with that it's heresy. Sound familiar, sound like the dark ages, we are not far from it. Each denomination taking its own path, and claiming it's own truth.
The world will not change, it does not need to change. The change happens in me, my circumstances and situations don't need to change, I do.
