1 Thessalonians 5:3
"While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape."

Yes, it is getting better in a lot of ways. More of the world's population has access to clean water, reliable food supply, education, health care, and other essentials. Violent crime across the world is declining, fewer people are dying in wars, extreme poverty is in decline, and tolerance is increasing.

Now, before anyone starts posting examples of bad things happening, remember we're talking about overall trends across the entire planet. The fact that there are areas where significant problems still occur does not negate the larger trends.

It's a cold, hard fact: our world is becoming a better place
