And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.


Romans 1:32

Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.


II Thessalonians 2:10-12

These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. Quoting Solomon during his days of unbelief by works of the flesh?

I thought this was a site for Christian believers in Jesus Christ with hope of glory.

Isn't this verse in direct conflict with the one posted below? (in KJV just for you)

Your verse of choice indicates that the person who brings "no fruit to perfection" is damned to eternal torment.
But the scripture below says the one whose work is burned up (no fruit to perfection), he "shall be saved". (he) - LOL
So, which is it? Saved, or damned?

1 Corinthians 3:11-15 KJV
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it,
because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss:
but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

I am very familiar with this blame the victim mentality. Sickens me.
Fortunately, there is more than one doctrine of the final judgment.

Victims of what? Doing evil? The modern justice system makes victims of child rapists and murderers. They call it by reason of insanity. As though there was ever a sane rapist and murderer. The psychiatrists love their lifetime gvt payroll to rehabilitate them. I don't remember any statistics of any success rates. Just follow the money trail.

Quoting the Bible out of context is the favorite pass time of false teachers. And they just get upset when rebuked for it, because teaching the Bible accurately is not their pass time. Including those that agree with them.

It was your post that was OFF TOPIC and therefore out of context.
Grade school grammar knows the context here is of the end of the wicked. Saying they will be happier in the grave is not a teaching of the Bible. It's the false hope of some other kind of faith.

An honest person knows the topic is about the end of the wicked. Quoting the Bible out of this context to make the grave a happier place for the wicked is twisting the Bible to teach against it.

I enjoy a strong challenge and debate as much as anyone, but that requires honesty with what people are saying. Taking things personal and then changing what others say into something else, is not the way to go about it.





Who decides what is true or false?

We do as individual believers. And we each answer to God in the end for the choices we make. And with the Bible, those choices are based upon how we choose to live. That's why we are judged by our works, and not not just our faith and teachings. That's what makes the Bible different from all other books on earth.
And don't say, "The Bible."
There is no consensus on what it means.
Very true. That's why we don't go by consensus, which is just a tradition of the majority.

However, knowing and teaching the Bible is much easier than people make it out to be. Most of it is just repeating the words of the Bible in normal way. And also there are many verses that stand alone and end all argument about certain things, if we believe the words written.
