First time posting. This doubles as a test and also a simple question.

On the third day he rose from the dead.

Our sins are now forgiven?

So what do we have for any further discussion??

Jesus died for our sins

OUR… is the key word.

OUR is the repentant and forgiven sinner.

All others simply remain UN-repenant, UN-forgiven sinners.

Glory to God,

So I understand without jesus God may have terminated the entire human race with righteous rage. But he didn't using the Son part of trinity as redemption?

Sorry I have just become baptized Catholic less than a year ago - learning every day

But I go to confessions all the time... My sin was forgiven back then nearly 2000 years ago but I still need to be forgiven all the time?
I am not from a denomination that practices confessions to a priest. There is a benefit, in confessing sins to one another, it creates accountability which leads to greater self discipline.

Cain asked God, "Am I my brother's keeper?" The answer to that question implied by Cain's evil deed and the counter example of the ministry of Jesus Christ, is YES. We are to help each other.

But the whole purpose of seeking forgiveness isn't for a momentarily setting of debts with God to ease our conscience. It is to repent, which means to change our minds into conformity with the mind of Christ. And he always did the will of the Father.

So without redemption 2k years ago - we may well have ceases to exist - we have been spared of that, but still, we keep sinning all the time and now instead of that dramatic correctional intervention, now we are invited by grace to keep correcting ourselves?

Forgiveness of sins? Simple faith in Jesus will do! As a matter of fact healing, salvation, and the Baptism in the Holy Spirit initially came with only simple faith in a Gospel sermon. May God will you with his Holy Spirit as he did in the saints past...

In the CEV translation, it states that FAITH allows for this GRACE to happen. Faith mean fidelity in action. Are you acting with fidelity or are you claiming Jesus is a rapist who saves people against their will?

Thank you for joining: welcome!

Part of being a good Christian is realizing we may hurt someone else, even though we didn’t mean to. That is because of our imperfect nature. The point of confession is to reflect on our behavior, acknowledge responsibility for carelessness, and resolving to do better. With God’s help we can perhaps improve over time and Love Your Neighbors out of habit.

A question for you: we understand the primary Japanese faith is Shinto-Buddhism. Isn’t the fostered culture similar to Love Your Neighbor?

Blessings.

So if you're born again your sin is forgiven by the only one who matters - God - you don't need to keep on confessing to a human. If you are born again you are part of a holy priesthood and can go directly to God without the necessity of a third party - a priest.

As Saint Peter himself wrote in his letter:

"you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 2:5

And if you are not born again you are not really a Christian, even if you have been baptised.

THAT PERSON NEEDS TO GET OUT of THE RCC . that place is deadly dangerous .
We dont have time to watch folks remain in dangerous places . NOR DO THEY .
The RCC is deadly and highly dangerous and is now in league with all relig oins
and through interreligious dialogue HAS MADE VOID the dire need to BELEIVE ON JESUS
as they and others told the false religoins that our GOD is not better than yours
THAT we all coming to GOD in different ways . THAT BE OF ANTI CHRIST . And that harlot
has poured an eumeincal cup of fornication all over the world .

Hi @yasuaki
Beyond forgiveness lay's a life of servitude to Christ who wants not only repentance but relationship, He came to restore our relationship with God The Father. Our God is perfect in all His ways and we can only ever measure up if we have Christ living within us. The fact that He died and suffered so for us should make us WANT to serve Him. So, it is about so much more than our forgiveness.
BTW-welcome to the forums.
God bless you and your time here.

Think of it like this..

Lets Say God put a Billion Dollars into a Bank for everyone on earth.

Its there.

But, you have to go and get it out.........
You have to go and get it .

So, while it is in the bank, and it is for everyone....... not everyone is going to go to the bank and get it out.

And so it is with God's Salvation.
Christ has died for the sin of the world... so this is God's Salvation....completed........but to access this Salvation, you have to give God your Faith in Christ, or its just money in the bank that you never took out.

Now, the Satanic Gospel of "universalism" teaches falsely that because Christ has died, then you dont have to believe, and you dont have to be born again......... as salvation is already automatic.
Howwever, its not automatic, although the OFFER of God's Salvation through Christ is universal.

I totally agree, but at this early stage in the discussion I was trying not to scare him off. I hope he will take note of what has been said and that the Holy Spirit will open his eyes to the true Gospel and that the RCC is nothing more than a man made cult. But we need to be gentle sometimes in order to get people to see and not set them against us.

Welcome!

In fact, our sins were forgiven "before the foundation of the world", but now "each one in his own order."
