through ignorance you did it, as did also your rulers.

just reading some passages this morning. was looking up what is ‘be not ignorant’ while Acts 4:11-13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled;

Psalm 73:17-28 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end. [18] Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction. [19] How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors. [20] As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image. [21] Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins. [22] So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee. [23] Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand. [24] Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. [25] Whom have I in heaven but thee ? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. [26] My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. [27] For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee. [28] But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works.

Romans 10:2-8 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. [3] For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. [4] For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. [5] For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. [6] BUT the righteousness which is OF FAITH speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) [8] BUT WHAT SAYS IT (the righteousness which is OF FAITH) :

The word is nigh thee, (Psalm 73:28) even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: THAT IS the word of faith, which we preach;

‘For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own ...’
fIRST, thanks for the reply, and you're on point. SECOND, TO BE NOT IGNORANT IT'S FIRST STEP IS TO BE OBEDIANT. but ignorance is just without Knowledge, or information about something. but all ignorance is not bad in a sense, depending on the state of one's development. but here in the spiritual areana, as one poster put it, with all this internet capabilities, and electronic bibles, there should be no excuse to be ignorant. just as you quoted, "For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own". but the Holy Ghost is correct by his apostle,

Romans 1:18 "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;"
Romans 1:19 "Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them."
Romans 1:20 "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:"
Romans 1:21 "Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened."
Romans 1:22 "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,"
Romans 1:23 "And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things."
Romans 1:24 "Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:"
Romans 1:25 "Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen."
Romans 1:26 "For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:"
Romans 1:27 "And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet."
Romans 1:28 "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;"
Romans 1:29 "Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,"
Romans 1:30 "Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,"
Romans 1:31 "Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:"
Romans 1:32 "Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them."

THAT'S A GOOD LOOK AT US IN OUR IGNORANCE IN DISOBEDIANCE. by the same token one can be ignorant in obediance.

THANKS VJ.

always wondered if they had no silver nor gold then what did they have to give one begging mercy or pity? ... A sound mind.

‘yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness (heath, completeness)‘
might help to consider lazarus as eleazer, or the true jewish priesthood, as opposed to the pharisees/sadducees system that arose
