Trouble Choosing What To Do

Technically im a catholic but i have a problem, actually two problems: 1. I don't really believe in praying to saints, i'd rather just pray to God. 2. How do i know that Jesus was actually God and not a seperate entity all together?

Any1 know what i should do, or if i should talk to a priest? i really dont want to embaress myself

I think you already have your answers, you just have to find them. Ultimately, faith is a personal decision. If you don't believe in praying to the saints, then simply don't pray to them. No denomination has a monopoly upon heaven and provided that you're studied up and "prayed up" on the matter, then you've got to go with your heart. When Christ taught us to pray, he went straight to the Father (Matthew 6:9-13).

Scripture testifies Christ as the only begotten Son (John 3:16-18), and the same Scriptures testify to the relation of seeing the son and therefore the Father (John 14:9). Think of it this way; when we say I saw his boy the other day, do you immediately conclude that person knows the father of the person just by seeing the son? Absolutely not. Yet Christ himself made that claim. As far as the authority, it stands on the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit. Either this book and the words therein are true, or they aren't. That's why it's called faith, and you have to examine the issue yourself. Asking questions is a good way to get there, and I'll be happy to point you in the best direction I am able.

I think Mark 9:37, Mark 9:38 and Mark 9:39 should help you, you dont have to accept any preacher or preist or any so called leader. The only one you should accept is christ because he alone is worthy. Thats what i would tell your catholic preist, there again though thats just what i would do.

Is it possible for God to die? I think not, or He would not be God. Was Jesus a man, there is only one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. Did He die? He most certainly did, otherwise His resurrection is a fable. He had a human body, He had a Divine Spirit, His body was the meeting place of God and man. A deathless, Holy Spirit ruled His life, not like the human spirit in a man. He died, and was entombed, and in suffering death was made sin for us, his enemies.

He was raised from the death state, the eventual fate of all Adam's posterity, by His Father Who justified Him from death.

He was very much a man and a separate "entity". He emptied Himself as the Creator of all things, put all of His divinity in the hands of the Father, all His power, authority, rights, all of it discarded, in order to taste death for all and ransom them from it.

He was more than a man, He was Divine in spirit, and the fullness of Deity dwelt in Him. Separate and distinct, as the image on a penny is not Abe Lincoln. He is the express image of the Father, but not the Father, as He Himself repeatedly claimed.

Read the Book. Be a son faithful to God, and read the Book yourself. It's all in the Book, the Book that is unending in discovery of the truth for the one who will take the time to study it and seek God's approval.

Salvation is not found in a denomination or a Spiritual leader, it is found by anyone who looks for it, and you are looking.

The Bible tells us to start by looking at ourselves.

We are all sinners.
I am a dirty rotten sinner, and I deserve to go to hell, but I’m not, because I have been born again........
Romans 3:23
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

You are also a sinner, and you have to realize that fact, in order to be saved.
Christ came to save sinners, and we can’t get saved until we admit that to ourselves.

Next, we must realize that our sin must be paid for.......
Romans 6:23
“For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

And we will have to pay for our sins, unless we realize that Jesus died on the Cross to pay for them.

And Jesus is offering us this free gift of eternal life(“the gift of God”), if we will simply take it.

Now the reason God sent Jesus to pay our sin dept, is because He loves us........
Romans 5:8
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

And if you believe these three facts, you can be saved today.

Real salvation is a personal agreement between each of us and the LORD.

He offers us this wonderful free gift, and all we have to do is ask for it......
Romans 10:13
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

This may seem simplistic but it’s the Gospel truth.
And it is just that simple.

Please read the Bible and pray for understanding. And I recommend the King James Bible. It's the only Bible that's actually a true translation of the Word of God.



People have been corrupting the Word of God from the very beginning of it's spread. These new bibles are based on manuscripts that were corrupted at the beginning of the church. In fact that's why they are still in such good shape. In the beginning of the church no one wanted anything to do with them so they received very little use, but the Received Text, it wore out. They had to reproduce it over and over so that we were left with copies of copies that are'nt as old as the originals.


2Co:2:17: For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.


Many people were corrupting the Word in the beginning. That's an important clue.


Sorry, I didn't mean to go off topic. I do pray that you find the answers that you seek. God has obviously moved you in some way that's caused you to pursue answers to your questions.


Praying to saints isn't a practice that I'd recommend to anyone. And I certainly believe Jesus Christ and God are one in the same.
